Victory, the TEC alliance had no chance, despite the loss of the Kure, the Mr.Tiel and the Sonraku.

Their deaths have been avenged.

I might get it soon. Maybe today, I don't really know. And the graphics are amazing. Huge system, and I still can see every fighter. That is incredible. Oh, and the phase jumps, that is how jumping needs to feel.

Probably are just like every game, made by players.

Remember that Vasari fleet yesterday that I had only killed one fifth of?

Well it's become a debris field in orbit around one of my newly acquired planets.

Minimal.
Hardly noticed at all if not for the supply counter telling me I've got room to build more ships.

That's my problem, I think. I have some sort of attachment to my ships. Yesterday was probably the first and last suicide mission I've undertaken in this game.

Well I build my fleet literally like a turtle, losses are always very minimal.

I tried to film that final battle we had but it seems Fraps only records 30 seconds at a time... which means I must have an... unofficial... version on my laptop.

I missed that awesome part when my fleet arrived into Kasuga's orbit.

Is there any defense against Advent bombers? I have a Normal AI holding on to 3 planets and it seems to love massing Drone Hosts. I spent 5000 credits on pirates but it never runs out, because the bloody bombers take them out before they can even reach the substantial amount of frigates it has in orbit. Ditto for me.

Already tried getting a ton of Anti-fighter frigates, but it takes them a while to take out just one bomber squadron. The only alternatives now is to either spam carriers or try to tech up to the Vasari siege cannon.

Anti-fighter frigates are there to provide cover to your main fleet while you burn down the carriers. If they don't work well enough, get some heavy cruisers instead of frigates, and get some carriers of your own filled with fighters to take down the bombers, and get all your capital ships to have fighter squadrons as well.

You're probably also got a designated anti-fighter capital ship, which could help a lot to have in your fleet.

For the Advent, I know it's the carreri capital ship, it can host more squadron than others and has an ability to push away all enemy fighters to protect itself and your fleet from them.

I also know the TEC's Khol battleship has a Flak Cannon ability, designed to tear appart fighters that get near it, much like the Battlestar Galactica.

For the Vasari? I don't know which one it is.

I think I'm gonna play a game as the Vasari right now to learn more about them.

WHAT IS IT WITH THESE VASARI SHIPS?

THEY DONT OBEY MY ORDERS!

They keep changing targets on their own or just going for a spin around the planet in the middle of a battle.

I prefer my thunder god Advent ships.

Ooo I HATE this... The AI just LOVES to spam those units and it pisses me off...

Two bloody fleets with 4 capital ships and 50 Ravastras and support ships apiece. You can guess what happened Mad

I had about 30 anti-fighter frigates with me, and two of my caps' were carriers fulled to the brim with fightercraft. I'd love to mass the cruiser-carriers and see how that goes, but my economy is in the shitter right now.

As for anti-fighter capital ship, the Kortul has an ability to make all the fighters near it not have weapons, but 1) It always autocasts its other abilities, and 2) This is only a CHANCE. 85% of the time it won't do anything but drain all the antimatter.

One thing I find especially annoying is that my fleets are much larger than the AI's, so whenever an enemy fleet shows up on my phase jump radar I quickly send a fleet through a Stabilizer, and they run. But if they get to the world before me and launch bombers, that negates the 'holy **** he has more ships!!' meter. One thing I could try is launch a suicide fleet at the planet the AI's Halcyon cruisers and drone hosts love to chill at and then send a wing of Kanraks to blow the shit out of the homeworld. They do happen to love spamming Pulse beams as well, so I'm not to sure how that'd work out. If I wait too long and build up my fleet more, then the AI will simply unleash all the bombers everywhere, even though I control most of the star system.

So, in closing,

You can deactivate the autocasts by right-clicking, so they cast what you want, when you want.

You could also build phase jump destabilizers to prevent them from fleeing.

I've quit games where I have the AI obviously beaten but I don't feel like chasing the remainder of their fleet around the freakin solar system. And warping into a enemy planet just to watch the entire enemy fleet warp to the planet I just left gets old real fast...

The AI do surrender if you've got any kind of victory of them, military, diplomatic, or other.

If they don't and you know all they've got is little worthless remnants of an empire spread across the system, you're free to quit the game and call it a win.

BAHAHAHAHA and you guys thought massing carriers was a pain in the backside.

I just took it to the next level:

My primary capital ship increases strike craft damage by 30%, my three other capital ships are carriers filled with bombers and fighters, backed with a dozen carrier cruisers and a small illuminator and Iconus escort.

So what I did was jump into enemy space, then use my 8-10 Iconus gardians to create telekinetic forcefields around my ship, pushing all enemy ships out of firing range and leaving them helpless to be slowly picked off one by one by my endless waves of strike craft.

I had enough Iconous Guardians to rotate them one after the other and never run out of defense.

End of the fight? I took maybe 2-3 hits, did not lose a single ship, and destroyed the entire pirate base without moving my fleet from the spot it jumped into.

Well, I massed carriers. I'll reload and record as soon as I figure out how. 60 squadrons of Fighters xD

This was partly helped because the AI sent a fleet of Drone Hosts and Illuminators to one of my colonies, and my primary fleet warped right into the middle of it. At least 6 Drone Hosts taken out. But the Illuminators survived to fight me again, resulting in a mob of them taking out about 10 of my Ravastras.

Interestingly enough, taking the Pirate base was the biggest challenge; they managed to take out a good portion of my forces before I bombed their asteroid back to the stone age.

Like I said, I just chilled behind my telekinetic field and let the drones to the work, they made quick work of all the pirate ships. bombed the turrets to hell and then I was free to bomb the asteroid.

It's not a tactic I plan on using often, but it might come in handy.
