Letting people run the Galaxy themselves is destructive and will cause much grief. Remember the Alteran Empire is non-interfering, it won't do things just for the fun of it. I'm not saying there shouldn't be moderators. I'm saying moderators should be unaffiliated, or at the very least be only observers that report to the devs, that could be within Altera for all I care. But the concept of having every single authority within one faction is just begging for something to happen. Better to not keep all your eggs in one basket.

| And there are a lot of moderators, even on commercial games, that have sticks up their bumholes or just love to dick around when none of their overseers are around. Ergo, moderators should be chosen on a vote-based process, and a 'big deal'.
Altera just seems way overpowered and would overturn the balance of the mod. You think the moderators don't want to play too? Having them all in one faction is begging for people to cry about abuse, just like in PvP servers. Imo, you can make your faction, but don't give it heightened status over the rest. That's just wrong.

I'm gonna side with the Doc here, without a mod faction, the weapon-oriented factions will just roll over everyone. [Look at Vinyl with his bloody PAWNCH.]

[Look at Vinyl with his bloody PAWNCH.] He won't have PAWNCH unless the devs get high and decide to implement something like that. And if it's bloody non-interfering, how in the heck will they do their jobs? No. Moderators should be free to go around and do their stuff without being attached to one sole faction that serves no purpose. My point here is that while I've realized Futurecraft needs moderation and Mackeroth needs a god faction, they should not be one and the same. Moderators should just be normal players with the exclusive ability to temporarily ban players and report said users or servers to their supervisors, the devs, who could take more permanent action when they elect to get on. I mean, look at Solaris. Admin factions never work out, the only reason (I think) you insist on having moderators in Altera is because you've seen how deserted they get after the initial novelty wears off. And even then, all of a sudden you have invincible nations capable of deploying imba devices as they please, which is not something I believe Futurecraft should have if it hopes to offer a balanced and equal playing environment for everyone.
