The Nivanshae Empire

Government: Monarchical / Minor Technocracy Republic
The government is led by a Emperor who makes all the major decisions of the empire and represents it as a whole. The population elects a council of members that are highly educated in their particular field of knowledge, This council assists in making major decisions and deals with those that are not considered important enough for the emperors consent. The empire is divided into systems which are then subdivided into sectors.

Species Background: The Nivanshae have always been focused on rewarding creativity, learning, and hard work on a near religious scale, This resulted in a faster development of technology then other races and led them to be a very advanced civilization with a deep well-developed culture. They prefer to build a few well created things and improve upon them but they also enjoy trying new things to see if they work better.

Culture: The Nivanshae home-world Nivan has always a deep culture, This combined with the fact that Nivan is a major trading hub of the empire has resulted in it become the epicenter of Nivanshae culture, technology, and trade. Religion has never been big among the Nivanshae due to their near worshipful characteristics of learning and work, Though a few religions have sprung up across the empire from immigrants of other species however they are all extremely small and mostly remain within the immigrant groups.

Economy: The Nivanshae produce large amounts of raw minerals and advanced alloys, Fine Textiles, Art, Electronic components, a small ammount of shipbuilding, and Transport services.

The empire holds 7 habitable grade* planets along with 5 bio-dome inhabited planets, They claim 17 solar-systems under their control.
The empire has a total population of around 98 Billion Nivanshae.

I have no idea, it just sounds cool to canonically have this hugeass military but be unable to steamroll a civilization of seven planets. Maybe you broke wind one too many times at the negotiation table.

The Librarians are still in a 5000 year long war with the Valyrians that cannot be won and cannot be withdrawn from.

In the distant future, the conflict has devolved into self-replicating robots and clones, fighting each other endlessly for a purpose long forgotten, consuming what little resources remain in the heat-death of the universe.
