I didn't post it to get feedback, I posted it to keep the thread awake, and let you know at the same time I got Minecraft to work again.

There's a maximum of around 60 posts a day, if that, many of them in the same threads. This one wouldn't have drifted from the front page in the time it would have taken you to at least finish the exterior.

Anyway, the ship is looking good. I KNOW it is far from complete, but don't make the front wall of the back section (the semi-circle) flat. You shouldn't have sheer walls on ships, recipe for disaster.

No worries, it's not. It's a sloped hull, just as the rest of the ship.

Finally (officially) announcing the as-yet unnamed superdreadnought's existence, Kayleigh Adams, CEO/CEng.O of the Shivan Aerospace Corporation released a few photos of the now one-third-completed craft, the newly-installed power systems and engines currently undergoing testing while the rest of the hull is being completed.

That is not a superdreadnaught. There's just no way. It's big enough that if you wanted to call it a dreadnaught probably no-one would comment, but superdreadnaughts should be kilometers long at a very minimum. It's hard to tell exactly how big that is, but if that's a third of it, it's only a few hundred metres long.

It's already a few hundred meters long. Like, four. I may reclassify it as a battleship or battlecruiser if it's really that big a deal.

The thing in the picture is only about 220 blocks long. Is there more to the third than that? If so, it could be a dreadnaught. If not, probably not.

So should I go ahead and reclassify the Companion as an ultra-dreadnought or..?

I'm going less on length and more on how huge them end-product will be than anything. Yes, it will be larger than that. Significantly taller in the back section, as well. You have to consider that the rear section is nearly a hundred blocks wide all on its' lonesome.

From what you described here it's hard for me to imagine a good looking finished product, it's forward is already too thin. Your height limit is 256 anyway so it is still not colossal.

My height limit is 4096, thank you very much...

Also, wtf don't you people get about "the front end is an enormous spinal planetcracker"...

Then the ship needs to be bigger.

No, no. A ship built entirely around a single massive weapon is a perfectly legitimate style of warfare, and something which I fully encourage. It wouldn't be a main-combat vessel, though. It's a Krosov on a massive scale, requiring an escort of Cobalts and Kodiaks to be completely effective.

I don't think a ship that small is going to be packing a superlaser, to be honest. Maybe a ship-to-ship ion cannon like in the Homeworld series where it's basically an outer-space artillery unit.

Yes, perhaps a poor choice of words. I suppose it really depends on the rest of the ship. If this is really a third of it, I could see it having a superlaser, a small one at least. Say it'll kill a city, not a planet.

Depends entirely on the power source. Mag-bottled pinched-fusion reactors are comparable to the hypermatter reactors of SW Death Star fame... in the Bolo universe. The ship, again, is not complete. The next harp I hear about the front end being too spindly when that's just the cannon...

Superlaser? Nah, MAC. Or a particle accelerator cannon.

I'll tell you this - if you attach a big ship to this one nothing good will come out of it, it's just too small. Same applies if you make it 4096 height.

The fact of the matter is, Iv, that this is a big ship. The fact that it was built by hand and not in WorldEdit like the rest of you makes it feel even bigger, to me.

Even Jedi's diplomatic cruiser is bigger than what you have currently. I can understand you've put a lot of work into it, but don't go start calling it such a big ship when most of the ones on this forum are at least 1.5x bigger.
