Move forum

More of a suggestion to Shiva than an idea for the mod. Forumotion doesn't let you transfer databases, and in conjunction with those annoying ads..

Essentially what this means is that when the 'noob' or 'pro' forums are moved we'll all be stuck with this one. Should forumotion go down, well, that would prove disastrous, albeit unlikely. I'm suggesting that a move be made to a free webhost such as [url]000webhost.com[/url] before this one gets overloaded with messages to the point it's indispensable.

Do you see my point now? Factor in dependence on a host that refuses to distribute databases and whom's terms may change in the future, other than a few posts (that can be moved, at that [with a crawler though]) there really isn't much of a reason not to set up a new forum elsewhere.

Special AND Normal Ranks (since this mod requires users to edit the baseline PHPbb files line by line sites like forumotion don't allow it.)

User Rank Progression (See above.)

Custom Rank icons (To my knowledge forumotion assigns them on a per style basis)

Custom Profile Fields (See 'Affiliation' section of the image. That's a feature touted in PHPbb, not sure if F-motion allows it)


I spent the weekend working on that demo of the merits in making a custom forum but Shiva doesn't want to give me any sort of feedback on the idea. Hoping this will invoke some sort of response seeing as she doesn't reply to the PMs.

Going to keep on getting this to the top until an answer is given.
