| I am trying to make a vanilla server so me and my friend can play. When I start the server, it loads everything right. But my friend is unable to join... I don't know what it tells him when he tries to join... Can someone help me get my private server up and working? I really want to play with him... | |

| You must open the server port in the firewall. | |

| Not your firewall, the router. You must port forward. Alternatively, Hamachi | |

| Port forwarding is simple, but its a pain in the ass. I can tell you how to do it, if you want me to, but my router is probably different than yours, so you would have to some of it based on what your router interface is. | |

| I think I opened the port on my router, I typed in my internal ip in a browser and opened port 25565. I think my problem is my firewall, I forget when you port forward you had to make an exception for that port and program.
So I need to add Minecraft server and port 25565 with both protocols on to the exception list, right?? | |
