Not his first ship. Error, the design is intriguing, but that seems too small to be a frigate. A corvette or cutter, perhaps?

| I use my own ship classifications. To me, a dreadnought is only 1km. A cervette is an oversized fighter, and a cruiser is roughly 50+ m long. | |

This isn't about classifications, it's about authenticity. I apologize if you misinterpreted it as such. Cruiser only 50m? The heck, mate? I'm no Last_Jedi_Standing when it comes to scaling, but that's really small. Like, Asian wee-wee small.

Like, Asian wee-wee small. My frigate is 150+m long by 50+m width. |

| That's a reasonable size for a frig, caltech. Cruisers are supposed to pretty much be the backbone of a flotilla... But whatever. If you like small ships, fine. I'm just saying you aren't apt to pick up much business if people start thinking you're trying to pull one over on them by having a fifty meter cruiser | |

| Smaller target with overpowered engines. Go fast and be hard to hit. | |

| Cool ship, I like the overall shape a lot. Also, my frigates are about 100 meters, and my cruisers are around 250m. Just sayin. | |

That would be because it's shaped exactly like the Enterprise.

| It would be better if it was bigger. |

| Again with bigger. Why doth a starship need to be big? It's like self-painting you as a target.
And yus, it's Enterprise-y, but it's more Baby Sovereign-class than Consitution-class.

It also lets you mount more weapons. For instance, your cruiser would be like a fly to, say, one of Iv's Raynor class capitol ships. It wouldn't pack enough punch to get through the shields, and even with enhanced boosters you can only evade cannon fire so long. But if this is your style of building, I can respect that, and so should everyone else.

It's really a choice between a lot of small ships, a few big ships, or the more intelligent decisions of a mix.

Also, those look like fighters could take them out. Just saying.

| I'm sure by LJS standard, the Aesir IS a fighter.
So I guess being able to outrun your big ships, even at FTL, means zip? Your point on weapons is fair, Tiel, but the only issue is being able o hit the little sppedy ship.
Plus, if I shove in a battleship-level shield generator and plug in an ZPM, bob used to be your uncle.

Sure, it'll be swift, but it won't do much to the opposition. Really, this would be more of a trolololol thing if anything xD Just pop in a few of your 50m cruisers crewed by NPCs after being forced to retreat and watch the ensuing rage

| @Tiel: The idea of the Commonwealth's navy is a piracy deterrent. An actual invasion force gets to say hello to the surface ion cannons.
@Ivan: No, they're not cheap, but with that much shield power, I can take a barradge from just about anything.

| I didn't say it would fit. The result would give the crew the little walk-in closet to live in, but that shield gen would normally belong on a battleship. | |
