will we be able to edit ships after they're launched

in other words will we be able to modify ships after they change from blocks in a ship yard to an entity in space (or an atmosphere) by which i mean will we be able to for example redecorate the bridge or expand the brig.

since there is a weapon that needs blocks to be placed for it to fire i know we'll be able to build in that weapons barrel but will we be able to build anywhere on the ships/space stations.

last thing: is placing blocks going to be how we fix our damaged ships after our battles
