Mackeroth's construction log

From what little I can see (black ship at night with moody lighting) it looks a lot like the second design I put in for the BH, with a couple modifications like shorter wings and a segmented body.

I think I will use this picture to inspire my next range of ships:







Which is slightly sad, because I only built the one ship and giant turret using the B-range style.

Where is it taken from ?

No, it's not from Stargate, it's from some game I've never heard of.

I built a ship similar to the gun-ship on that picture. I'll upload some screenshots if I get some time today or tomorrow. I'm probably going to start more radical designs like some of Blockman's ships.

Anyway... I decided to continue using the B-range style as I can no longer stand working with only two colours. Also, I couldn't get the right orange or grey as in the picture, so I decided to not bother. My design differs from the one in the picture partially because the internet crashed and I couldn't find it while I was building Robert, and partially because Minecraft is too blocky for that level on detailing on something I interpreted as being that size.

My general thought on the ship:

-Too much gold, which should only be used in moderation.
-Ships look cooler at night if you put glowstone on them.
-The "head" is just... wrong.
-Due to block rotation, my dreams of achieving 4-order rotational symmetry were smashed.
-The texture pack is awesome.
-I need to work on interiors.
-Never use vertical wings, unless your name is Mr. Cobb.
-Horizontal wings can work, with some effort.

Hey it doesn't look that bad ... actually it looks good . I think it is fine with those vertical wings.

Thanks! I just couldn't find anything specifically good about it, so I pointed out the traceable problems. Like a lot of my builds, it shows a lot of technique, and practically no form. Actually, I think I need to start a proper ship-rating system...

Anyway, I don't like the vertical wings. I'm going to have to get used to building flat ships if I want to design the Banhammer.

Try a scaled-down Colony Ship?

Why flat ships, Mack? Make three geometric shapes as outlines, and go from there.

The design is good, but please use another palette. The contrast of colors hurts my eyes.

Technique 8/10 I like the colors.

Form 9/10

Function: 6/10 There are no visible power systems, fuel systems etc. However, the interior is what I would expect from a shuttle.

Presentation 4/10 Its in a hole in the ground what more needs to be said?

It's the one in the opening post, so yes that is the one.

It's the one in the opening post, so yes that is the one.

Right. I would give that a 8/10 for technique, a 7/10 for form, 7/10 for function, and a 4/10 for presentation.
