What's wrong with Netherbrick? It certainly looks just as good as Lapis Lazuli, but it comes with stairs and fences, which Lapis Lazuli doesn't. Plus, I personally feel that red looks cooler, blue almost makes it seem... childish, like a ship you'd find in a cartoon. My personal style happens to be blue, it's not childish at all.
