| I guess I need to alter battleship to be in 3d space now, huh?
Should it be:
(1,5,3)!
You sunk my Titan!

You sunk my Titan! Ooh, yes. I will begin attempting to create a 3D Battleships game. That would be awesome.

| Well I had a 2D battleship with fully functional AI as my assembler final exam assignment ... As in theory we should suck in programming the ministry of education requires you to write a project with only 200 lines of code. When I asked my assembler teacher if this project is too big she answered that its quite simple ... Only two weeks before submitting the work and after 1400 lines of code I figured out that she doesn't know what battleship is [ she came from India ] . And that's including the fact that I didn't know Assembler at all because our first teacher died from cancer , we lost like 3 months and I fixed the final bugs two hours before I had to defend my work against an external tester.
IF I pulled this out a 3D battleship will be a piece of cake !

| But wait! If you fire from a position it goes through other positions as well, unless it is a jump missile! That means that instead of coordinates, you need to give a equation. It would be linear in microgravity, and quadratic near a gravity well. No wait, because you need to simulate firing between planets, so we need to add in planetary gravity. And other types of missiles. And moving the ships.
And there you have it: Nerd Battleship. I will play-test it today.

| Okay, Mackeroth is online, people. Get back on topic. We can make a 3d battleship topic in the Off Topic Zone if you wish. Don't let him kill you. | |

| I love the reaction people have to me....
Yes, I suppose that we do need to:
-Destroy this forum -Make a new one, which has the in-universe and out-of-universe sections in it. -Make sure this new one LOOKS epic. -??? -Profit.

| I don't really fear you, but I can use other's fear of you to gain power.
Wrong thing to say? Maybe.
Anyway, let's move this stuff to the Off Topic Zone, and discuss FE here.

How on earth do you get battleship down to 200 lines in asm? It doesn't seem possible, not with an AI, in any case.

| Assembler is what compiles the assembly into machine code. Assembly and machine code are basically 1:1 in terms of operators, with the exception of some things like macros and preprocessor directives.

Assembly and machine code are basically 1:1 in terms of operators, with the exception of some things like macros and preprocessor directives. I know. But he was usng assembler as the language. 3 questions: 1: Why did you learn assembly? 2: You can code? 3: WHY ASSEMBLY!!!

You don't , everyone picks whatever he wants as a project ... and could you imagine that the b**** who tested my game me 91/100 because of a CORRECT UNSWER ? "What is the purpose of stacks ? give me 2 " "1. To store the IP register of the next command during calls , 2. to store data you wish to store ", "think again " , "I dunno" "well the correct answer was to store register data during your program's run" ... Together with my teacher's score (it goes 50 / 50 ) I got 96 so I'm not complaining but I could and had to get 100 ... - fr0stbyte124 wrote:

Assembly and machine code are basically 1:1 in terms of operators, with the exception of some things like macros and preprocessor directives. Correct, but one of the assembly languages was nicked like that as far as I remember, anyway assembler is the term used during our exams and I think that the ministry of education has there some programmers who know something about it... they have to write tests somehow after all .
