Vehicle Carrying via Dropship Empty

In order to save some space, I was thinking there could be a tractor beam kind of thing in order to keep ground vehicles in place. This provides more potential space for troops in the bay of the dropship. It's like how vehicles are carried with Halo Pelicans, just more logical.

I want to suggest something to all the people out there. Thing about how hard something would be to code before you suggest it. Although you could take a lot of the boat-floating-in-a-water-elevator code.

Hard to code? This would be simple to code! Have pistons or something on your dropship that clamp on to holes in the tank. Quite honestly, I doubt it needs any code.

I was thinking more of a laser, a series of transparent blocks that hold the vehicle in place.

Tractor beams could work, but I'm not sure if captured vehicles will be "wobbly" or not.
