Research:

Military: The new lens are a sucess, the new Kelrah crystal can focus with the almost same accuracy of a gravity lens ,yet being more cheap to produce. Being just a new molecular pattern of the glass,it can improve beam firepower in 10%.

Civilian: The new M3 cyber-amp is on the market, It offer extra-net access and a miriad of other usages, being more or less a "mind PC" . The military version is being worked to enchance the reaction time of soldiers, being like a "expansion pack" for the brain.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Construction:

Civilian: The new "Pindog" freighter is on the final production stages, being tested with the new set of engines and cargo space.

Military: The outfitting of the border recon and patrol fleets are complete. They are now more deadly with the "PHALANX" defense system [A  variation of the GARDIAN,bosting not only a laser defense network, but micro-AA missiles as well.]

Military 2 : Production of the Noxus heavy cruiser has begun. 10 are planned to serve as flagships of minor fleets and other 15 to serve on the main fleets. [ETA 4 posts]

Spoiler:

>> Corporate
New product being tested with focus groups, results are promising. From what can be told it appears to be a new form of nutrient paste.

>> Imperical
Conversion of another colony world to forge world is underway, its first manufactorum is underway.
Exploration of a nearby star system is underway. Preliminary results suggest multiple worlds with some form of primitives. Specialized codice-compliant exploratory scout ships are in the works.
After the completion of a two-year project to create a far better shielding system, fleets are systematically being taken in to docks for refits. The new shields provide up to 34% more protection, utilizing old techniques from Exion such as hull emitters and energy plates.

OOC: Great. Jack is insta-building dreadnoughts now.

Civil: The Census is complete. Total population: 50 billion. The shipyard is 60% complete.
Military: Sending the 2nd Fleet with the 3rd Marine Division embarked to Antares III to participate in exercises with Darkstar.
Research: Project Supernova is about 40% complete.

//INSIDE CHANCELLOR ANDERSON'S OFFICE//
General Helsing: Sir, we have to build at least one superweapon. However, it has to comply with the Perfectum Codice
Anderson: See to it that we have one by the end of the year. Dismissed.

As Helsing left, Chief Praetorian Volkova entered the office.

Volkova: Sir, your shuttle is ready.
Anderson: Good. Let's go.

OOC: I see how EVERYONE is violating the treaties of the Perfectum Codice before we've even really started. Shame, shame.

Also, the research act was passed nearly 30 YEARS ago. The Perfectum is 50 years old.

Alastor walked into his office, only to be immediately buffeted by alerts. At least 20 messages had come in while he had been inspecting the junkyard around Halogen III. He sighed and sat down, bringing down a holo-grid of the messages. He scanned over it.

Message List:

He sighed as he read the final one. Something was still up, even though he had just been there. Nothing was wrong.

He opened it and began reading.

Zuguth Daily
--------------------
Guided tours to the wasteland
Guided tours are being arranged to the unbreathable wasteland of Yun.
Scavenge the ruins of the advanced cities! Visit a tech mine! Explore the dusty wastes!
Protection suit and transport to the planet is included in the price.

Reclaiming lost land
Emperor George Tequino has announced that a mission to try to reclaim the lost planet of Menya will start soon.
"The cultists have advanced weapons, possibly more advanced than our own." the emperor states.
"Scouting reports tell of advanced energy weapons using technology our researchers have never seen before."
Despite this, the emperor seems confident in the success of the mission.
"With the weaponry we're currently developing, this should be a pretty equal match, not counting differences in the number of units" military adviser Marlena Tecenya informs.
"As with the new mechs, we're cutting out the useless experimental technology and focusing on sturdy gear that packs a punch."

Marriage of the year!
Global celebrities Juanero Edwards and Camilla Cheverno, known from movies such as "Death of a Planet" and "Obsessed with Perfection", recently announced they are getting married. The couple has had a turbulent relationship, but we're hoping this time it'll last.

D'riqnar sat on the cold metal throne, gazing at the crude support struts holding up the tattered ruins that was once an elaborate arched ceiling, the ceiling of the greatest Valyrian warship ever to grace the sky's. All the while, people hurried by like a swarm of ants, holding their heads low, trying not to attract D'riqnar's attention. His eyes drifted to a young soldier, perched elegantly on a ledge at the base of a pillar, smiling, into the harsh abyss of the chamber. Driq'nar beckoned his guard over, and pointed to the man, "kill him" he whispered, a bitter anguish lacing his voice. The guard gripped the man by his arms, dragging him towards the throne, the young soldier's eyes filled with terror, and he whimpered pitifully as he realised his fate. Driq'nar stood, and loomed over the whimpering captive, "you smiled" he said, emotionlessly, and lifted his pistol, shooting him without a further word.

The post-war Strigiforme Empire was booming. Their economy enjoyed a time of growth, and they were in the midst of a Golden Age. While their government has very little contact with the rest of the galaxy aside from routine functions, they need no major trade pacts or treaties to secure prosperity. Cuuyth was once again a jewel, no longer grim and solemn, it regained its former traditional bright crimson and cerulean cloth awnings and pennants, becoming an exciting place to live and visit. The Aiigaiion, holding a special place in the hearts of the Strigiforme, was not relegated to a sad orbital junkyard, but turned into a vast orbital museum, portraying the entire history of the Strigiforme. The Strigiforme military was kept at the same levels, with improved shields and weapons. The Strigiforme people, free of their prior fear of constant war, now openly live outside the Strigiforme Empire in minuscule numbers. Much remains the same; the Strigiforme have continued to vigorously spy on the Equestrian bloc, constantly prepared for a new war. The border systems, obtained from the EE, have been almost completely turned into the average Strigiforme Colony, with all prior monuments having been demolished, and discussion of the past history having been made punishable with death.

All was good.

PostSubject: Re: Arc III: Corruption   Arc III: Corruption - Page 4 Icon_minitimeSun Dec 22, 2013 5:57 pm

A compact well encrypted message arrived on board the UTD Solace, it was not a mere message. Bypassing all standard protocols of communication even within the SoF, this message went straight into tactical command room, where around a dense starmap sat the high councillor himself together with the president, as well as the grand admiral. Not even the captain of the ship, or the admiral of the first fleet to be exact, was allowed in.

It is clear to those of you who know a little about the UTN where did this message originate from, this name drove shivers even in the UTN's admiralty board, the Exsolutus. They did not obey the UTN chain of command nor report to the SoF nor even to the council itself, they served only one purpose - to ensure the survival of the UTA and the human race as whole, and for this purpose they could do anything, even blow up a dreadnaught if the need would arise.

"We will extract the old computer core from ARK-1, it should be suffice to complete the NARAI network", it was a mere piece of information about their next objective, they didn't ask permission either, not from the UTN nor the NSCD. This giant planet-sized hulk won't miss that core anyway, but just to be sure the Exsolutus had a plan.

It is easy to slip by with stealth technology so long you don't get close to the enemy radar arrays, that is why the Exsolutus targeted an abandoned core away from radars or communications. Two transports will arrive , one will take the core and one will serve as decoy in case they are revealed. If such is the case all the Exsolutus have to do is to rely on their veteran pilots. Coming from nowhere and disappearing into the void of space without being seen or detected by a radar, these pilots are the most skilled warriors the UTA can offer. It is true they are not numerous but in this operations numbers don't mean much, especially when the opponent is so light on his feet. In fact there are only 8 of them, and these 8 single-handed doomed a battlegroup to death. They don't need numeric superiority for that, the true strength of the Exsolutus is that they strike critical vulnerabilities instead of coming in by brute force. These fighters will provide cover and distract the enemy while one transport tries to get away, maybe it will succeed , maybe not, what matters is the other transport that won't reveal it's location and slip away simultaneously while the opponent is busy with the other transport.

Another interesting fact is that the ships these Exsolutus fly do not exist in any database, not even the SoF's , meaning that even if detected it will be impossible to tell who was behind the attack. For this op oracle evaluated mission priority as low , and so in case of a threat the oracle considers Exsolutus assets more important than the core and suggests retreat.

Research: NARAI network.

BTW People when you read this you know too much, I hope this helped you with your curiosity but it is all stuff that you cannot, and will never know until it is too late, that is how the Exsolutus were designed, that is why they don't take orders nor communicate with others, this way nobody can leak this information, it just remains in the Exsolutus. They observe the changes in the world and when they deem necessary they strike to change the course of events.

OOC: of course I'm disobeying the codice, due to our possession of an ARK we're going to be bloody invaded regardless of anything as soon as times get tough.

BIC:

:::ARK-1:::
:::SECTOR 4:::
:::RESEARCH DIVISION 37C:::

Omega was in the control room, Commander Delta, who was stationed as captain of the Archetype and admiral of the fleet, had opened a comm line:

Delta: nothing to report, long range scanners haven't picked anything up, nobody's dome anything stupid, and no signs of codice surveillance vessels

Omega: If there was nothing to report why did you contact me?

Delta: because I know about the project, and I know that if you succeed, as soon as the codice hears about it, I'll have their ships on my front door, this is a great concern of mine

Omega: relax, they won't attack

Delta: why are you so sure?

Omega: well for one we never agreed to their rule, and they never asked, we only agreed because most of their laws weren't stupid, with the exception of the Ark activation rule, that's common sense, and we were enforcing that anyway.

Delta: yeah, they won't buy that, they don't give a fuck about who owns what, if they want it they take it, if they don't like it they destroy it.

Omega: fine, but answer me this, if we finish this, and they disapprove, what can they do?

Delta: exterminate the specimen and sanction out economy?

Omega: one, we don't have an economy, we just use our resources, the only sanction they can place is taking our resources, theft. Two, the specimen would be a member of a highly endangered species, and would have done no wrong, it's extermination would not only show the sector that the codice is cruel, but would give us a very good reason to rebel.

Delta: Sir, I've seem their fleet, we wouldn't stand a chance.

Omega: We've gone up against those odds before.

Delta: True, but we don't have Alpha this time.

Omega: Don't worry about it, we haven't quite broken their laws, but they'll be pissed because we didn't tell them, they may well send a few ships round, but they won't do anything, don't shoot them unless they shoot you.

Delta: I hope this isn't blind confidence Omega

Omega: I'm not capable of that.

Protectorate Aggregated Status Synopsis; Cerus 5032

Assembly Core Ideations; Dilettante

  • Manufacturing is up 10% from last quarter's disappointing output. Majority has ruled that no less than 30% of this capacity is to be allocated to the Economical Concerns subcommittee for intelligent distribution.
  • Trends show trade faltering with nearby neighbors; assembly is divided between investing in long-range drives on transports or redoubling efforts with existing markets. Issue will be re-raised next convene.
  • Outsiders seeking inroads to Taln space are once more resorting to methods insulting to the sovereignty of the Tien people. Military intervention has been voted on and succeeded roughly 6:3. The CHG has been cleared to engage trespassers at their discretion.
  • Construction continues on the Sixteenth Fleet in Taln Shipyards federalized stations across the Protectorate. Analysts project the force will be ready for deployment come the end of Vierka if production and recruitment rates remain stable.
  • The Protectorate Planetary Corps has plateaued out at eight million active duty personnel. Further enlistment will result in unsustainable upkeep costs - as such, the Directorate has voted to reduce the previous quota to match the PPC's current manpower.*

    -CLASSIFIED REPORT-
  • The forced scuttling of the Sovereignty II class warships fifty years ago left the Navy reliant on the aging Sovereignty I's that they were intended to replace. As time dragged on it became abundantly clear that it is becoming far too costly to update our legacy dreadnoughts to make use of advances in technology. The 980m Sovereignty III hull specification seeks to resolve this concern through utilizing components of its predecessors to minimize costs while providing a more capable combat platform for the decades to come. A prototype is currently undergoing the final stages of completion using parts from the Sovereignty II dreadnought Arca, secretly retrieved and salvaged. If trials prove it to exceed standards established by its parent ship, the Systems Security subcommittee has indicated it will press for funding to dismantle existing dreadnoughts for reconstitution.

* This will have no effect on Reserve units. In keeping with the Axiom of Combat, reservists will continue to be recruited until all planets are theoretical defense level GREEN.

OOC: The joys of isolationism!

Just about all crew refused to leave the Scourge when they were told it had to be scrapped. Some even cried at the thought. Such a beautiful ship taken apart. It became a new project, all parts were going into the making of the other five Scorpion class supercarriers. It would take about a year to complete all of them. The militaries prime objective was to build those carriers.

>>Imperial

Unofficial statements regarding changes in military tactics are circulating but no official response has been made to these claims.
Plasma weaponry is finally now on the table for the R&D labs after new motions have been passed by the Lord of Admirals with the success of Exion-derived shields to further the research started by Darthon on the subject. Theoretical prototypes are expected to be ready in the following months.
Planetary screening of Hexalan-controlled worlds is beginning, it is unclear what is being searched for however. Tactical Alertness fleets are being taken off duty for these efforts, several older reserve ships are being used to fill the defensive void for the time being. Majority of scans projected to be finished at the end of the month.

There wasn't much going on in the MQR, the biggest news were the election of a new SGM and an accident at the Cloudsdale weather station which resulted in destroyed crops, but no deaths.

Below the Crystal Mountains, however, the military leadership was quite busy.
A New SGM meant a new person to answer to and a lot of work to be done to cope with his expectations, which were quite different from those of the previous leaders.
It also meant that after over 50 years they finally got permission to reactivate control room AC-DS-1.

The Flayer was centuries old, and it was showing, the tattered fleet of rusting hulks was degrading faster than it could be repaired, and recently 2 ships had been destroyed when their jump drives had failed mid flight, causing them to collide, vaporising both ships. Driq'nar had ordered the shipyards to build him a new capitol ship. A state of the art warship, built only with killing in mind.

1) Having posts as a timeframe is ridiculous since you can make as many of those as you please per day.

2) Cutting down effectiveness from a particular type of weapon anything more than 20% with no drawbacks is immensely overpowered.
