| Basically as I said Planned to use command blocks in my Custom map. Primarily I planned to use them to spawn mobs easily in a controlled way, without covering my map in redstone or mob spawners. Problem is - vanilla minecraft doesn't have a spawn command (at least as far as I know) and I don't know a damn thing about commands or anything that has to do with SMP. I already use MCpatcher for HD textures so adding another mod should not be a problem. I need to add though a mod that allows me to spawn mobs with commands, that works both in SSP and SMP and works with command blocks . I'll be glad if you help me out. | |

| You could use dispensers and pistons instead of a mod, because once you released the ma, the people who would play it would need that mod as well. I would just use dispensers and pistons, I could show you how sometime if you want. | |

| You think putting dispensers is that easy ? I said I don't want to build my map so that 1/3 of it is walkable and 2/3 of it is redstone linking to dispensers that look quite ugly BTW. People will need to use MCpatcher because I use 32x32 textures. | |

I suggest using trip wires to trigger mob spawning on every new street the player walks onto. Not exactly an answer to the queston but... a suggestion once you figure it out.

| Do you know disco's method?
It DOES use mob spawners, but...
It pulls down pistons to be level with the mob spawners, allowing them to spawn. Effective. Try that. All the redstone is hideable underground too.
And you could use mods like Redpower...

And you could use mods like Redpower... No redpower uses forge so installation becomes too complicated and crappy, it's for 1.2.5 anyway. It seems like I will have to use mob spawners but I really REALLY REALLY DONT WANT TO because it's too much redstone. I told you I don't want redstone, I'm bad at it plus it's too much and too boring.

| Just deal with it. Dispensers work, cmd blocks don't.
If you want, use custom mob spawners and cmd blocks to mod those.
