Physical: A bit like a cross between a human and a bird of prey without feathers, with tougher bones and opposable thumbs and no beaks, immune systems are so overreactive that even a mild infection would kill them due to the cytokine storm that would result, so they wear armored suits to prevent any microbes and such from getting in.
Societal: somewhat clan oriented, each clan chooses two representatives to well... represent them, from there the representatives elect two Admirals (purely ceremonial title) who each manage things like military, foreign relations (although the remaining representatives do have a say in what they do), species wide problems. basically all the general nonsense.
Psychological: tough, relatively fearless but not stupidly so, and decide worth based on what someone is capable of that has a practical application I.E. someone who can mess with astrophysics and solve problems surrounding FTL travel will be worth more (in their minds) than someone who can perform a flawless ventriloquist act and make people laugh.
Technological: advanced military tech as well as FTL travel ( i can go into detail if anyone wants me to) heavy ships built for massive firepower (which their rail guns can provide, and if it's too OP i'll figure out how to nerf it in some way) smaller warships built for speed and maneuverability with other goals secondary. weapons tech is focused all around accelerating heavy objects to obtain insane kinetic energy.
History: Alayri have only recently diverged form the evolutionary path of very large predatory birds.Genetic mutations granted them intelligence and opposable thumbs, but robbed them of the ability to fly. In a very short space of time they built a thriving civilization, and achieved localized spaceflight in an astoundingly short length of time. The problem arose when there were arguments over what should be done with spaceflight. The result was a splinter group who opposed the general consensus that space should be for peaceful purposes. As a result their original speedy scientific discovery was hampered by attacks, forcing them to build a fleet of combat ready ships to destroy the splinter group. After a brief war which concluded with a supernova that the fleet barely survived, they were ready for something other than war. With space safe for them to explore again they quickly built ships designed expressly for exploration. As they explored the galaxy they found proof that there were other advanced civilizations in space.As newcomers to the galactic playing field they are somewhat nervous and defensive.

| More races is fine, but all races need some weakness. Strigiformes can't handle high radiation, for example. Also, the ships are OP, same problem as the races. Strigiforme ships have stronger than normal shields, but weak hulls, and their weapons aren't quite as powerful as other races. | |

hmm weaknesses... UV radiation (sunlight) reacts badly with chemicals in their skin causing them to ionize... heck any ionizing radiation will create ions in their bodies and their crazy haywire immune system will treat the ionized particles (and by extension- cells) as hostile and will attack them. as for ship weaknesses... power. with all the punch (or speed) that the ships have they burn through their power faster than pretty much anything, so therefore they're limited to (with the exception of specially designed long distance travel ships) to a power supply (similar to the problem that faced U.S bombers on long distance bombing runs in WWII). | |

| Race: slyth
Description: the slith are serpentine creatures With clawed hands and four arms. There home planet has a dying sun that emits almost no light, causing the slith to develop an intolerance to sunlight.
Phsycological: the slith are a cowardly race and hide behind their technology and use complete manipulation to avoid conflicts they will not win easily.
Societal: the slith dominion is split into 37 sects, each of which elects a leader. These leaders come together to form a goverment who run the dominion.
Technology: The slith were an extremely advanced race before the destruction of most of their empire in the fall. They have retained some of their technology but most of it was lost. By the standards of most though they are still an incredibly advanced race. They value speed above al else as not being there when your opponent is shooting you is by far the best defence. As such the ships of the slith are engines with guns with little armour. The image fragmentation tech also helps compliment the speed by making it near impossible to tell the ships true location. Put simply, the slith hit hard and lightning fast, then disappear before you can retaliate.
History: Virtually nothing is known of the dominion before the fall, save legends depicting their lightning raids from less advanced races. How ever the past hundred years or so tell of the rebuilding of the dominions social order while the dominion evermore slips into obscurity. | |

Realism is more important than random strength and weaknesses. They should come naturally. | |

Physical: Lower half of the body is spiderlike with 8 hairy legs, And the spider web glans, Upper torso is Humanoid-Wolf like with 2 arms, 5 apendages for each hand.
Societal: Somewhat secluded to themselves except when needed they will group together for strength
Psychological: In a term, Emotionless rocks. HOwever they cannot handle talking ponies.
Technological: They are proudest of their engine tech and FTL communications, However they lack slightly in the area of sheilds
History: Meh im too lazy to write one, Lets just say some horible accident wiped out all known history, Yeah, Someone deleted program 64. | |
