[I believe Tiel had this idea, or used this pic, anyway. Shout-out.]

| Read "Tiel's Idea Thread" and scroll down to 'Shipyards'
That should get you to grasp the basic concepts of it.

| Shipyards shouldn't be mobile with a shipyard core alone. They should be able to accommodate some propulsion pods or tugs to move them from place to place, but they shouldn't be able to build ships while in motion or another core is active in it. A mobile repair/refit station would be okay, but it can only make repairs to the vessels and replace any weapons and ammunition lost or fired during battle (basically a huge carrier with many crew and a lot of room for spare ammo and shipbuilding materials). | |

| Sorry, should've clarified. They can't build uber-huge capships, only up to about cruiser level stuff. And rocks move faster. | |

| It's not speed thats a problem in space, it's acceleration. Law of conservation of momentum. ANYTHING can move faster than a rock, but it may not be safe. For example, if my shipyards acceleration is 10 M/S and my Cap Ships is 200, that means it takes 200 times longer to get to a certain speed compared to my capital ship. The same goes for slowing down. You could technically go to very high speeds, but you may not be able to turn or slow down fast enough. | |

| And when you can't turn, it's only a matter of time until you collide with something that will kill you.... | |

| All owl fedoras contain advanced kinetic shielding.

| But does a fedora allow you to breathe in space? | |

| Does a fedora protect you from ants under your pillow? | |

| No it doesn't! So all the kinetic shielding in the world won't help you if you are already dead! | |
