| Radiation is forced down focusing rods and beamed toward a target. Then drone explodes. Baisically ship killers.
Special weapon only a few for even the biggest ship, as they would be the size of small corvettes.
BIG BOOM! | |

BIG BOOM! I support this idea. It's actually called a gamma-ray laser... normally created by placing hafnium rods around a thermonuke. Bomb goes off, gamma rays lase the rods, the rods emit SHAFTS OF UTTER DEVASTATION and then win.

First due to size only one would be available per ship( large ones at that) Second shields would greatly disperse the radiation, therefore its really only good as a finisher for a rather large ship that refuses to die eventhough its sheilds are down Thank you for your feedback however.

Thank you for your feedback however. I agree with that, but not some <CENSORED> huge weapon that can destroy ships in one shot (Or kill all the crew)

I agree with that, but not some <CENSORED> huge weapon that can destroy ships in one shot (Or kill all the crew) I agree, too but I thought there is a so called accelerator cannon for that role planned? If not so, please correct me. I would (and do if you look at the space torpedos thread) also support smaller superweapons as long as they are expensive enough in comparison to their power.

| We just have one slight problem with radiation:
Shields will block radiation completely. That's what they're designed to do.
Well, so long as they're active...
That's EM radiation of course. I have no idea how they would fair against Alpha or Beta particles...

| I really don't like the idea of a UBER SUPERWEAPON KILLS ENTIRE SHIP + PLANET BUT IT'S SUPER EXPENSIVE TO BALANCE IT. We need more low and medium power ideas. All the ideas we have recieved so far are the former. | |

I doubt the members' of this community abilities to come up with the latter.

I doubt the members' of this community abilities to come up with the latter. We could have a gun, that you mount on the outside of a ship, that fires spitballs at the enemy. They will clog up vents and drains and inconvenience the ship's crew.

| Medium ship weapon- sand cannon, let me explain, when going incredibly fast even small particals can do massive damage to any ship, weakness- incredibly short ranged | |

| If space ships still suffered from microdebris in the future, we would never be able to get anywhere. Going to assume it's not a real threat for this mod. | |

Going to assume it's not a real threat for this mod. Yes. Shields plus the much thicker and durable hull plating should be enough to stop micro-fissures in most cases.

| I think it has turned into an overall discussion of weapons. Such as kinetic kill weapons that are accelerated to near c and then lobbed at either a stationary ship or planet to massive effect, or ,as you said a gas weapon that is contained within a fighter like vessel and is shoved through the opponents sheilds. Maybe something like drop troopers can be imployed as a different kind of biological weapon. We could take a que from the TEC and have destructive robots as well as healing ones. Sand casters could collide with missles causing them to explode prematurely. Nukes could be used not as superweapons but as regular weapons and totally standardized. Compressed star matter such as that found within white dwarfs could be used as bullets or as sheilds. Hell we could take wires that when fired would weave together and connect ships. We could have tachyon particles being shot that sends whatever it touches back in time.
So yeah weapons basically

| Lightspeed grenades. The way they work is that inside the grenade is a device which accelerates a single proton to just over the speed of light, without a slip drive/warp drive/hyperdrive/etc. This causes reality around the grenade to dissolve, and a perfect sphere of matter simply ceases to exist. They come in various sizes. The standard infantry version, with the proton inside, carves out a sphere with about a 3-meter radius. The event horizon is directly proportional to the amount of matter in the grenade. Ships use FTL drives to avoid this effect. This idea has nothing to do with scientific principles, it just seemed cool. | |

It's stayed mostly on topic. I do think that bio-weapons are likely, but are low priority.

I do think that bio-weapons are likely, but are low priority. Would injecting blazes and creepers into enemy ships count as biological warfare?
