More Metal!

We know that some new resources like naquadah or uranium will be added, but what about basic materials?
My Ideas would be:
Copper: needed in order to make low-energy cables. I personally don´t like the Idea of transferring electicity through a small layer of redstone dust as it is described in the (outdated) Summary of FC
Bauxite: you make aluminium out of it, you know, that thing you can use for quite any contruction
Tungsten: used to improve steel even more (less demage by energy weapons) by putting both into a smelter
Tin: I have no Idea what to use it for. Military rations in tin cans maybe?
Platimum: computers? maybe?
Titanium: armor
Palladium: something like the ARC reactor from Iron Man?
Iridium: nuclear fuel rods (jacket)
Arsenic: chem. weapons

In my personal opinion, we shouldn't be adding too many ores seeing as how so much will be needed to build ships. I think the trick is to make this fun without making it overly complex.

maybe you´re right.
let´s put the complexity into crafting.

I think it's better to have a curve. It's easy to do basic, practical stuff, but the higher level manufacturing requires much greater complexity and care in production.
What was that one smelting overhaul mod? It had an interesting system.

TerraFirmaCraft has all of the above mentioned except the fact that it is rather complicated and requires quite a bit of patience, the metalworking part of the mod is awesome

I was going to make a mod that would add just one "mischmetal" ore that would extract like 8 rare ores (IRL just rare earth ores)
