| Something I've seen tossed about is the concept of an in-house AI, I for one would love to have some sort of subsystem that would have a sexy holographic avatar take care of the menial tasks to reduce crew amount. Will this feature be in the mod, or is this just an inside joke I don't know? If not, here's what I think an AI should be like-
- Central CPU block, preferably near the core or in a well protected section
- Holographic stand (This could be used for other things such as ship-to-ship communications)
- All systems it's linked to have to have a direct path of redstone to the CPU block
- Talked to via a popup dialogue box, searches for key terms - ie 'AI, full power to engines'; AI hears 'full' and 'engines' and carries the orders out.
- AI chips are extremely expensive to buy and create (Perhaps issuable only by Squadron Commanders?)
So, what say you? I think this could be a great improvement to efficiency, as the amount of NPCs generated to liven the ship up could be cut in half and still make sense.

| The only hard thing would be the input of commands; however there are BUKKIT plugins that are able to talk and search for key terms and even have certain feelings toward different players - and this is all without clientside modification. Other than that, the only other obstacle would be controlling the subsystems.
If I had the time to learn java, I'd most certainly give it a try, ditto if I already knew it. It'd probably end up like Notch's code though: sloppy and lag inducing
Also, lolApple. I was thinking of course more on the lines of something like Eternal Spring, or the much more popular Cortana from the Halo series. By that game's lore these would be 'dumb' AI, but hey, what can you do?

| User: AI, fire the forward lasers!
Cleverbot: What? Who mentioned lasers?
User: Fire the forward lasers now!
Cleverbot: Arrrr! You mean fire the cannons!
User: No! Fine, fire the MAC!
Cleverbot: Aye aye, sir! *fires the cannon*.
User: NO! THE MAC! Magnetic Acceleration Cannon!
Cleverbot: I'm not a magnet. I am a person.
User: You are a bunch of electrons going through a circut, and you will fire the forward lasers.
Cleverbot: I'm actually a person. In fact, I'm a computer programmer, not a computer program.
User: FIRE THE MISSILES THEN!
Cleverbot: I don't own missiles. Do you?
User: Fine, just kamahamaha them to bits.
Cleverbot: Do you have a girlfriend?
User: SHUT UP! Come on! Fine, release the neurotoxins!
Cleverbot: No, you're the escapee.
User: Owl 02345 has been deployed to a computer near you.
Cleverbot: I would guess that you are a program.
User: You are, and you will fire the forward laser guns!
Cleverbot: You cannot get me to leave that easily. You are not a human. You are a computer program.
User: Fine, I am a computer program, and I need you to fire at that computer-generated ship over there.
Cleverbot: Are you a smart computer program?
Cleverbot: Where have you been all my life?
User: Kamehameha!
Cleverbot: Awesome, mine is destructo disc.
User: *Our ship dies.*.
Cleverbot: It depends... Are you a boy or a girl?
Actual convesation I had just now.

I know, but you can't fit in my ships, and theres only one of you. Everbody knows that all ships have a female AI. And it is always female.

| Thats why in my Apercraft fleet control ship, there is a giant computer module that connects to me with wi-fi and controls the Apercraft fleet. | |

bow chika wow wow What I was thinking is that the default model would be female, but it'd be unwrapped so users could replace the texture, like how some texture packs remove the noses from villagers.
