I will explain the three types of symmetry here:
Between block symmetry
BIB

Around block symmetry

BIBIB

No symmetry
BIB

Legend:
B= Block
I= symmetry axis

I'm not entirely sure what the question is. All my ships are symmetrical, but none of them are like that. The right side is a mirror of the left side. I don't do any form of individual-block symmetry like you seem to be talking about.

Asymmetry is very good if used properly. Mackeroth's dreadnought, for example.

A combination of the two is ideal to create an interesting ship design, though I have to agree with Jedi in that I have no kriffing clue what you're saying here.

Right. If your ship is an odd number of blocks wide and symmetrical, it's BIBIB, if it's even and symmetrical, it's BIB.

Also, that ship I'm building isn't a dreadnought. It's too small. It's a Battlecruiser (1-4 scale replicite)

Replicite (rep-li-kite) (n): a partial replica that differs from the original in some aspects.
