So I know I haven't been talking much but I have to tell you guys a story.
So I was reading my local news paper when I saw the big picture they always put on the head lines. Looking down at the title It said StarCraft 2 North American finals at my near by Convention Center so I'm like . WHY DIDN'T I HEAR ABOUT THIS!!!!! Thats like only 30 mins. away from my house. But theirs more because reading the story I lerned that Idra the gamemaker was there and it was only $35 for the weekend! Also some of the best gamer's are going to be there! (But sadly I won't be able to game because I'm not that good )

Starcraft is a futureistic RTS based on combat between three main factions, the humanlike Terrans, the hivemindish zerg, and the super high tech awesome telepathic ninja dudes called the Protoss.

considered one of the best RTS games in the world. Personally I think Company of Heroes is better due to the fact that numbers and resource advantage alone cannot win you a fight there.

Uhm, wow. Have you ever played SC? Play through the guide missions (basically the tutorial) and it'll show you otherwise.

A handful of upgrades and units..
Really, SC2 is just a spamfest with dumb gimmicks.
CoH is a more tactically based RTS where you have to actually think what you're going to do next as opposed to just following a laundry list of buildings and units to construct.

I played starcraft so I am familiar with it's mechanics. Tutorials are NOT the example you search for, online games are. Have a look at the game I posted . Even though the beginning has some more advanced tactics it all narrows down to fighting blobs and calculating resources as the more you have the bigger your blob. It also has some rock paper scissors mechanics in it.
CoH on the other side does not allow you to simply blob your troops. If you blob your infantry I will simply cut through it with my HMG or a well placed arti barrage . Probably the only blob that exists there is German armor blob but if you reach such situations it means you've lost anyway.

The Average SC2 online match lasts about 15 minutes too. I find that to be pretty short. I don't know much about CoH but where I stand, I put Sins of a Solar Empire as a better game than SC2 as well.

Yeah, matches tend to be short. The longest 1v1 of my life was 25 minutes, then I walked some colossi up behind the enemy command center and wiped out all his harvesters. Sadly, I did it to two different bases before he decided he needed to defend.
In any case, each race in SC has a counter for everything. The only way to win at a higher level is by out maneuvering your opponents, since you'll all have a similar sized force. That doesn't mean you can't just mass a few hundred zerglings and bury your foes (you can mass them quickly because they're so cheap) but a smart enemy will have tanks, colossi or banelings to counter you. A smart terran player will nuke your base and lift off theirs, and a Protoss player will wall you out with Sentries while High Templars wipe out the whole force (a tactic I use against any ground army). I can flawlessly wipe out a Terran bio-ball (generally 60-90 units in mid game) with only 12 units, leaving the enemy base completely exposed. And that means game over for whoever I'm facing.
My friends and I used to have a platinum league 4v4 team, and this is even true in huge games.
