Time isn't a dimension. People who say that either don't know any better or don't feel like explaining the intricacies of the space-time model to people in the first category.

You must realize that there are different kinds of dimensions. We live in a Universe where we have 3 spacial dimensions and 1 time, and all the other dimensions are folded at the Planck scale. In a parallel Universe where the dimensions folded differently, there might be 2 spacial dimensions and 4 time dimensions. Or there might be another type of dimension that we don't have in our Universe and understand nothing about.

We are actually in a 5D universe (at least) where every person has his own time (4D separated between all the living beings) , fits well with Einstein's theory about relative time or something ...

Even if one of the dozens of string theory models ends up being correct, it still doesn't mean anything useful.

Actually here is a situation. A 2D room in a 2D universe full of 2D people. Someone wants to have fun and sends a huge 3D pencil through the 2D room. What will the 2D people see ? They will see a dot appearing in the middle of the room, it will start growing into a circle. The circle will stop growing after some time (it reached the max diameter of the pencil) and then suddenly it shrinks back to a dot and disappears.

Now another situation: A 3D room in a 3D universe full of 3D people. Someone wants to have fun and sends a huge 4D pencil through the 3D room, what will the 3D people see ? A question for you .

Hah, read about this kind of situation a year ago.
The 3D people would see a small ball appearing and growing bigger and bigger, then stop for a while, then suddenly shrink and disappear.
