Speaking Limits

Will there be an Speaking Limit to prevent flooded Chats?
So the principe is that your Chat messages are just shown in an defined area (for example 100 blocks)
if you need an bigger range you have to integrate an walkie-talkie (your Language is stupid) in your helmet. which should make it planet wide (including stationary orbit)

If you want to increase it still further you should need an special equipment (no idea what or how to achieve except very difficult)
Which will let you talk about the complete Server.

Well, for people like you there will certainly be chat limits, you've started more arguments here then I've had hot dinners. Which could be any... I don't eat food.

And yes, communications will have limited range.

I think it's best to have a few modes of chat.

World chat= displays the text to the entire world (not space) like in a normal server.

Whisper= chatting within a small radius, maybe 10 meters. Good for secret tactical meetings and such.

Ship Com= Chat is displayed to people in the same ship or station as you.

Fleet Com= Only available to officers. Text is shown to all who are listening as long as they are in the same faction.

Ally Com= Only available to equivalent of captain+. Text is shown to all that are listening, as long as they are in the faction or allied with the faction.

Ship to Ship= Available to the CO and First Officer of a ship. Text is displayed to the CO and First Officer of a specified ship. Allied, enemy, or neutral.

Universal Chat=Available to equivalent of Rear Admiral+. Text is displayed to everyone in the Futurecraft Universe

WHAT WE NEED TO DO IS LIMIT LOCAL CHAT TO A SHIP, OR A FEW CHUNKS.

Plenty of servers limit speaking distance already. It's not a difficult thing.
