| I was wondering if you (the developers) had already decided on fuel for the ships. I was thinking that it might be cool if there were a process to refine the coal that you mine into a better fuel source for lower level ships. That way, all the coal you mine won't go to waste, and, when you get to a higher technology level (not sure if that's how FC is going to work), you can sell it to less advanced servers for a small profit. | |

I don't think starship fuel will be based off coal at all. They will be powered by batteries/generators/ZPMs, as described in the MCForums OP.

Yes, but batteries require being charged, generators consume fuel, and ZPMs receive power through some sort of witchcraft that I don't fully comprehend... The point of this idea was to try to give a use for coal after you've gotten past using combustion engines.

The point of this idea was to try to give a use for coal after you've gotten past using combustion engines. You can always throw it at the enemy. That reminds me of a joke: - Spoiler:
So, there was this guy named John, who played the bagpipes. One day he accidentally left his bagpipes in the car with the window rolled down. He rushed back, but it was too late - Someone had put another set of bagpipes in the car.

It may not make sense if you're not a bagpiper.

It may not make sense if you're not a bagpiper. Explain the joke to us non-bagpipers because i don't understand at all

| OK, so this was a mistake. A high-quality set of bagpipes is a fairly expensive thing, and something that you want to be careful with. Basically the joke is that instead of stealing the bagpipes, someone put in more. This is because bagpipes have a (admittedly well-deserved) reputation for being loud and obnoxious. If you play the bagpipes or are involved in the bagpiping community, it's hilarious. This may have more to do with us not hearing very many jokes, or indeed much at all. | |

| My idea was to have crude oil be refinable, and have coal only used for creating electricity. The idea was to give people a certain amount of energy and rocket fuel to bridge the gap between the start of the game and the creation of renewable energy sources and rocket fuel such as solar and wind. Then you can make hydrogen and oxygen to burn as rocket fuel. | |

You see, this is the kind of idea-generation we need.

| Is the cat and buttered toast thing I said on here a good idea? I will say it again.
If cats always land on their feet and toast always lands buttered side down, strap a piece of toast to a cat and drop it, it will spin around infinitely, then hook it up to a generator and you have INFINITE ENERGY
