| So... I was wondering what will happen to your ship when you sign out of the game? Does it disappear? What happens to everyone on board? Do they get transported to base or the nearest ship of the same faction or WHAT. They cant just DIE. | |

| There's a long discussion about this in the 'Wow, Dem Pods' thread. It should answer your questions. | |

| There are already topics that discuss this, but I'm not going to get into that right now.
I have no idea how to handle this, but I would have it so the player that logs out just logs out. If everyone on the ship logs out, the ship remains there but becomes "non-existent": you can still see it, but you can fly and shoot straight through it, and you can't board it, or damage it. When any player logs back on, there is a short countdown, then this buff is removed.
However, there must be some way of determining whether the player(s) have left the ship conventionally, or logged out.
If the ship is in its dock and all the players log out, then the ship will remain solid, and not be a ghost.

| My thoughts on this is that if you are stupid enough to leave your ship flying unmanned within the depths of space, you deserve to have it smashed to smithereens on an asteroid. | |

| Some all powerful entities might have other things to do, (Like eat mosskv), so we cant always be there to OCD pilot. | |

| Yea auto pilot to the docks . BTW Danice and if that player crashed ? Doesn't he deserve fair treatment ? As for making the ship invincible the players may abuse this to avoid destruction (Oh no my ship is gonna blow ! QQQQQ ) | |

| Another thing: say you are in a battle, piloting a ship, and your game crashes (not an unlikely scenario, given the amount of fancy effects and calculations your computer would be doing in that situation, even with Fr0st's optimization). What would happen then? Your enemy would be given an unfair advantage.
Wait, answered my own question, and possibly all the others to:
If a ship has no pilot currently active, it cannot be attacked (but obviously can't attack either, or launch fighters, or have any sort of ship to world interaction, besides collision).
Actually, make it so that any ship to world interaction can only happen when the ship has a pilot currently active, or is already on a pre-programmed COURSE.
This is difficult, ideas (especially ones to tweak my own) anyone?

| Again - you are going to destroy my ship , I log out for a hour or so and then come back and take my ship to safety (You won't waste a whole hour waiting near my ship would you ? ) | |

This is called Combat Logging in MC PVP servers atm. There's a stigma to it, and I've known people to lurk about an area for hours on end (alt+tab watch some Youtube, periodically check back etc)

| It still gives unfair advantage and ruins the fun. | |

| I know That's why I think there should be some countdown before your ship disappears. Either that or an AI aboard the ship guides it to a friendly station nearby and docks, but the process would be safer if you did it yourself. | |

| I think a count-down to your ship becoming indestructible is a good idea, especially if during that countdown, you can't fire weapons, or have shields active, but can still be attacked.
It acts as a log-out-in-battle deterrent.

| Well, just because its invincible doesn't mean you cant do anything with it. If you have some spare junk, you can make ugly designs on it, or box it in so it crashes, or, if for example, the pilot is opening the fighter hatches, but has to go, you can just waltz in. | |
