| I think that maybe star gates should not be the only orbital structures!
ORBITAL REPAIR STATIONS:
Mackeroth recently posted a ship similar to Pats and commented that it would be a pain to repair.
Talon93 wrote: Very Nice! It is less bulky and excessive, making it more battle capable.
Thank you.
It would still be a pain to repair after a battle, as both Pat's and my ships are highly detailed.
There should be an orbital ship repair station! You would right click it while in driver view to dock it and in a matter of minutes (the time depends on the number of blocks that have been destroyed) every block will be back in it's correct place. The station would know where to put all the blocks because the ships will be put into minecraft by way of schematics. The station would read the schematic file and then it would get to work! I'm not all techy and stuff and dont know if there are flaws in this but it is a good idea isn't it?
ASTEROID MINES:
Asteroids should be randomly generated in space. I have an idea that would help with ship building. If you find an asteroid, any ship frigate and larger will be able to right click it in driver view and "claim it" for that persons faction. A faction can own up to 5 asteroids at once. Metal is mined from the asteroid and can be used at any time for building more ships. It can be taken over at any time by another person if they attack it, destroy that mining facility on it, and claim it as their own. The mining facility would be built in 30 minutes and mine 64 blocks of iron in 2 hours. (This can be brought down to 1 hour with upgrades) The asteroids never run out, like in soase. (If they did run out then we would have a clusterfuck of lag on the server with everyone exploring to find more asteroids) :/
The reason I thought asteroid mining would be a good idea was because we cant be sucking the resources out of entire servers just to build the dread that we have always dreamed of. Feedback is appreciated. ESPECIALLY FROM DEVS

| I like asteroids. There should be many of them, and a captain would have to scan the planetoids for minerals. It'd be once in a blue moon that you'd find one viable for extraction. | |

I think Mackeroth is opposed to asteroids, idk why. Anyway, I think orbital structures will be player-built, with the function depending on how it is built. As in, their like ships without a engine.

| Well, if you could mine an asteroid, most of them are loaded with things like iron, copper, other heavy(er) metals. | |

I have expressed my opinion against asteroids, have I not? | |

| Not as far as I saw ... Why ? Possible mines , hideouts , sensor scrambles , pirate hideouts , alien ships, dense asteroid fields that require big ships to destroy them in order to keep moving , making the jump gates more varied - a jump gate in a middle of a dense asteroid field will be probably the least used in the galaxy , but if you want to surprise your enemy ... so much strategy so many opportunities , why to throw all that away ? | |
