| Dear Developers.
I've been thinking. When this mod is released, sure, there will be epic space wars and intergalactic travel right? But what will happen to the mobs? Pigs, sheep, chickens and the other friendly critters are gonna stay right? But what about the hostiles? Right now a creeper's hiss may sound menacing but in the future it'll be like:
Creeper - SsssSsssss! Human - Trololololol! U mad bro? *Shoots*
My idea is that when you first get into a space ship all hostile mobs 'evolve' into a more powerful form. I'm not asking for walking, hissing and breathing nukes.

| Interesting idea.
By evolution, do you mean an evolutionary algorithm or just beefed up mobs?

| @Keon This mods goal is to shoot past the clouds, the stars and the moon and to go to place were no mod has ever gone before.
So yes a realistic evolutionary system would be nice.

| He has a point. Beef up the mobs and every few months RL release a patch to either strengthen, nerf, or just alter the mobs. | |

| It's a good idea, except for you can't force people to download a patch. Then the universe would get disjointed: people who downloaded the patch, and people who didn't. | |

MC used to auto-update, and no one was the wiser save for the server owners.

| Genetic algorithms won't work on this scale. Certainly not with the resources we can allocate towards simulating the mob population.
Procedurally generating mob breeds, on the other hand, seems quite doable. We wouldn't even have to release a patch. On of the things I'd like to try for Futurecraft is on-the-fly updating for parameter-based objects like ship parts.

On of the things I'd like to try for Futurecraft is on-the-fly updating for parameter-based objects like ship parts. What, we have like 100 mobs on screen at a time, right? Every day at noontide, we calculate new ones. It certainly seems doable as a standalone mod, the only question is if we want to do it. Which the answer is now. How would you procedurally generate breeds?

| Not sure I can imagine zombies, er, procreating. They're a one hit wonder, once they die out then they're no longer a threat. | |

| I believe this "evolution" could be a very important part of the game. I know that baisically no one here likes to gather resources and i also know that no one likes dealing with mobs. Therefore we should entice some "survivalists" (people who baisically go totally vanilla and mine and survive) with new mobs and new things to mine. This would help all those involved in the active millitary and in the spaceship building program. | |

I'm pretty sure that when it comes to gathering resources, we will use robots, and automated machines, not mining by hand with pickaxes.

| Maybe you could make an extra mob that is like the zombies in SPAZ (Space Pirates And Zombies). In SPAZ an entire ship is infected and it fires the weapons that were on board the ship and some extra stuff like goo and zombies.
The zombie ships could be a server event, where a big infected ship attacked and infected damaged ships, or maybe they would just be like space mobs that randomly spawned.

NECROPOOOOOOOOOOOOOOST Yes, but it was on-topic and constructive. You pointing it out, this long after it happened, is much less useful. Please don't do that.
