Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the best builder of them all?

Please we need to get this straight. It seems that a third of the people follow my style of building (albeit more rectangular), a third Pat's (which can get messy if not done right), and a third create their own.

So tell me, who do you think is the best builder?

-Body
-Detail
-Interior
-Weapons placement and design
-Awesomeness
-Build times


Feel free to ask questions to people about what and how they build.

He refined Pat's style to include more blocks to suit Futurecraft's style as opposed to accommodating Zepellin like the original, so until Pat starts pumping out more ships I think his are the best.

Too much school work for me, this is not fair. I can't build ships, I don't have the time for it.

Of course, but when you finish Black Sun and find the time to start producing smaller ships I'm sure they'll be good. Until then, though, block's style is a pretty good adaptation of yours.

The problem with big ships is filling them , I can't even finish the corridors in a tinny docking ring for my station ... Black sun is gonna take a while ...

That won't be a problem for Pat, as he's making modular interior components. The problem for him will be making a massive exterior shell.

I think... tiel, so far as being practical, and he has his own style. They look more like something you would build for utility/warfare, IMO BBQ TBH OFC.


and I like blockmans adaptation of pats style as well.

I think I have fairly good ships, I just don't have the time to build many. I also try to make the interior as cramped as I can, because when the mod is released, I am going to use every block of spare space.

Pat's inside first method, Tiel's work, or IV's work.

Only thing I don't enjoy about your ship is the obsidian insets, they detract from the ship imo. Other than that they're very unique designs which are fairly pleasing to the eye.

I use the obsidian to highlight certain parts. It's best viewed from above, as that's the viewpoint I looked at it most from while building them

Obsidian just looks bad with iron. Minecraft's poor quality graphics and the obbie texture just produce too much contrast with the iron background.

I don't use a texture pack. Do you? Also, I like the contrast, while others favor lapis, I find lapis hideous. IMO, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder

Hands down, its Pat. I am totally amazed by his ship designs and he is my "god"...

Completely forgot about yours. I'd rank you somewhere behind Pat but above ACH in exterior design.

Yes, but it is the one I remember the most. I never said your ships were bad, the have some interesting design concepts, and I like the use of contrasting obsidian on iron, but they are disproportionate.
