| It is a great game, a grand strategy game with a map of the whole Earth, you can play as anyone and form large countries. If many people on the forum got it we could play as all the major powers and take over all of Europe and probably the whole world.
Europa Universalis IV Main Features:
• Make your own decisions: Nation building is completely flexible and the possibilities are endless. • Bring out your negotiating skills in a deeper diplomatic system: Use coalitions, royal marriages and support for rebels and explore the possibilities of the new unilateral opinion system. • Use your Monarch Power: Experience the new system of monarch power where your choices are influenced by the caliber of the man you have at the top and will direct the ebb and flow of gameplay. • Experience the all new trade system: The trade system adds a new dimension to the great trade empires of the period. Gain control of vital trade routes and make the wealth of the world flow to your coffers. • Experience history coming to life: The great personalities of the past are on hand to support you as you make your mark on thousands of historical events • Turn the world into your playground: Enjoy hundreds of years of gameplay in a lush topographical map complete with dynamic seasonal effects. • Engage in Cross-platform Multiplayer: Battle against your friends or try the co-operative multiplayer mode that allows several players to work together to control a single nation with up to 32 players. Featuring hotjoin, improved chat, new matchmaking servers and support for a standalone servers. • Create your own history & customize your game: Europa Universalis IV gives you the chance to customize and mod practically anything your heart may desire and uses Steam Workshop.
It is currently 25% off, but may go to 50% off at some point during the winter sale.

| Also, if you're willing to spend a completely unrealistic amount of money, you can get Crusader kings 2 and it's converter to play all the way from ~800AD to 1812(?)AD. | |

| No thanks. I don't like rennaisance-era strategy. | |

EU3 makes total war look like Candy Crush. And it's set in a completely different era anyway.

| I got Wargame: Airland Battle when it was on sale. The learning curve has been steep, but it's a good game. | |

| World in Conflict is one of those games that really should've made it bigger.
I bet if Massive released a sequel today they'd make bank. Probably would have to sacrifice the Ground Control mechanics that made it great, though.

I bought it last year on sale, it's still a great game. I want to say Massive was working on something a while ago, and the servers were still up as of last year so who knows.

| No one's ever on, though.
Even their first title GC has a more active community, and it's like 8 years older. WiC is just one of those haunted games I guess.

There's still some activity on the forums, and I'd play if I wasn't running a 10 year old E-Machines. Anyone else have WiC? It'd be fun to play the modern warfare mod together.

| That's not like a strategy guide for advanced players, that's the basic guide for complete noobs, and it only covers the very basic basics, like how to use the units. | |

Same with what I said. That's for a mod. This is for the base game. The guide does not cover the 800+ units. It doesn't cover the maps. It only covers basic strategies like shoot-and-scoot and Anti-Tank Weaponry. This game is massive It also has a chatroom at the title screen for everyone playing the game to talk on. It's pretty funny.
