| I believe I am the forum expert on both Star Wars and Known Space, the first because no-one else is as crazy as me and the second because despite it being reasonably well-known (I swear to you) no-one else here seems to have heard of it. I know a lot about Halo, having played the entire trilogy and most of Reach. The only one of the books I've read is Contact Harvest. Mass Effect, although I haven't played 3 yet. All of John Scalzi's series, including [/i]Old Man's War[/i], Agent to the Stars, Fuzzy Nation, Redshirts, Android's Dream, and whatever others there may be. Those don't tend to come up that much, in part because, like Known Space, I don't think anyone else here has read them. James Cameron's Avatar. Culture. I've read all the Artemis Fowl books, at least as of a couple years ago, which I'm not sure are science fiction but were on somebody else's list so I'll include them. I just looked it up and it turns out two more have been published since I read them, but the brief description was really weird so I'm probably not gonna read them. | |

I read the original H. Beam Piper(?) one, and I liked it a lot.

...Fuzzy Space? Piper? I have no idea what you're talking about. *Fuzzy Nation, sorry. IIRC it was a reboot of an old book series(written by H. Beam Piper, I think) written in the 50s(40s?), which I read the first book of. The main character discovers weird little Ewok-like sentient life, right?

You seem to be correct, although that's the first I'd heard of it. It was OK. Not Scalzi's best, but reasonably amusing.
