Taking down the link to the dev site from minecraft forums.

i think it should be given serious thought since now we have demands for the mod to be finished from people who couldnt bother to read. random tidbits on the forum should be enough to keep most people interested. maybe a bump or two when it gets low. but id rather not have you guys getting frustrated by people trying to pay you off for a half assed mod. even if it means banning all non devs (aka me lol)

To my knowledge there has not been one person who has demanded this be released. People asking where the download button is, sure, but never a demand. The closest we've had is probably tacokingbob attempting to bribe us into hurrying it up (which I found sort of flattering, tbh).

Personally, I wouldn't have announced the project while it was still at this stage. But on the other hand, if Doc hadn't done so, I would have never joined, and I'm guessing same story for everyone else, so shows what I know.

Bottom line is this. Attracting annoying people is the price of popularity, but for every one of them there are ten thoughtful, well adjusted members of society who are also interested, even if they aren't active in the discussion. Take a look at our own forum: there are 157 registered members. Only one in four have contributed more than four posts, and those are just the people who visited our forum and registered. Undoubtedly the audience is even bigger on the main site. You can't just go shutting the door on all those people who have done absolutely nothing wrong in reaction to the antics of a handful.

oh well that makes me feel more optimistic then. i just didnt want the influx of new random people to aggrevate you guys enough to stop working on the mod. and i suppose i took tacokings bribery for more then what it was. i just dont want 100 repeats of that

Well said Fr0stbyte. It is good to know that you are no longer being silly. It was starting to get annoying.

And besides, all the important discussion is hidden to public eyes. Only 6 people know fully what's going on in Futurecraft.

Too bad. I will never stop being silly (though I'll try discourage topics from falling into complete chaos like that again).

But it's important to draw the line with development and official policy. I will never joke about those.

oh i know that. its a good thing,adds to the mystique of the over all mod. i just didnt want the devs to get burned out by people constantly pestering them for a release. hence why i asked once if i could be a beta tester and then moved on to attempting to make helpful suggestions and frequenting the idea forum.

At least I know that I won't be banned now.

How about posting progress reports every once in a while, just to slow people down? Like: "Here is the laser. Watch me kill a cow with it. kthxbai" It would make the thread on MC fourms less crazy.

You suggested that we keep updated progress reports on a board in which every staff member has a stickied development log, so I played a prank on you to make you think you got banned. Unfortunately, everyone but you saw it and caused unnecessary confusion. So...shame on you I guess.

To date, no one has ever been banned from the Futurecraft forums, and it would take something pretty major for that to happen.

I do read every devlog. Each one. Even the ones that say (Not a real). I was suggesting you post updates on the MC fourms, to stop the hoards of people saying "WHENS IT GONNA BE RELEASED!?"

But it's not a bad idea. We almost never put updates there. Figured that the people who were interested would come here, but maybe that's not the case. If I do something substantial I'll post something about it over there.
