| I am suggesting that Area /b/ is unclassified and revealed to the public NOW. We have nothing needing hiding in there. And it should be declassified forever. | |

| Yeah. This was part of the proposal actually, that Area 51 be removed and the threads divided between the Courts and the Development area. There's nothing in there that's actually worth hiding. I would be working on that myself but I can't move threads from there. | |

| Can we have a "Forum Area" where things that aren't related to justice or development go? | |

Should probably be the Member's Lounge.

Should probably be the Member's Lounge. More formal than the member's lounge. Where the workings of the forum are discussed and suggestions are made.

| Member's Lounge is pretty much the formal version of Offtopic Area | |

Most of the stuff in there really belongs in Off-Topic. Actually, I might move some of it later. I dunno. EDIT: Dammit, Tiel.

| I have mixed feeling for this, but I'd rather it stay hidden. It is Area 51 afterall. | |

| I believe most discussions in area 51 could be discussed in any other forum. I understand the need in such section but I warn that it might bring bad tendencies to the community. Currently we are too small for it to have any weight or danger. I saw bigger communities crashed by such things. The actual forum is not bad, it's just a tool. Problem was it was used inappropriately for conspiracy among the higher echelon of the community I was used to be in - constant discussions about acting against people from the community, secretly held away from the rest of the community until the specific player is getting banned, sometimes with no reason..
Specific limitations should be applied to the forum section. It's alright to post new passwords let's say for the forum or financial stuff once we get to maintain servers, but acts against users and new rules must only be discussed on open public forums.

| I think 51 should remain classified. The devs should always have a place to speak amongst themselves. If they don't, another will be found. | |

They do - the Development area. There, they can talk without distractions, and it's not secret. There is nothing in Area 51 that needs to be hidden.

| The section would remain there, just a lot of the topics there would be moved out, and things would be declassified gradually. (Right?)
Honestly the only reason I want to see them is because right now I can't. But if I was a dev or something, I would probably be against declassifying them because, well, it is hidden from everyone, ya know?

| Cutting to the core of the problem, why does anything in A51 require classification?
While we to a very tiny extent follow military protocols, mostly because it's funny, I don't see why anything on this forum should be hidden. Hey, it might stop the ceaseless "fr0st, how far are you on ______" comments.

| You don't want stuff going around in public areas such as financial stuff and passwords. Those few cases are good for a hidden area. | |

We don't have any of that, and if we did it should be handled over PMs. There's nothing in Area 51 except ban councils which mostly came to nothing and development threads that are now abandoned due to no-one having worked on them for a year. There's stuff, like the picture of the flying ship we posted a few months ago, that's cool. But, like the flying ship, we have nothing to show for it. No-one ever flew a ship except Cascaid, and he seems to be AWOL. There's lots of stuff like that, except without pictures or anything else but technical discussion.

For now it is, but unfortunately holding servers cost money. If you think it's easier to use PMs alright your choice , I think it makes stuff a bit difficult.
