| In the futurecraft universe, it takes a lot of work to make a ship. Of any size. Even designing it takes a lot. What's to stop people from using, so to speak, flying bricks? They're prefectly rectangular, spherical, whatever. Simple geometric shapes. They could have maxed stats in all catagories, and can bring more weapons to bear, etc etc etc. We need to find a way to keep flying bricks out of the game because 1.) They will be ridiciously OP and 2.) They are incredibly ugly.
Thats why I suggest the anti-brick defense system. It's a galactic entity. It scans every new ship and then determines how close to a geometric shape it is. If it's too close, it blows it up. The justification? Maybe this is an ancient, extinct empire, who once controlled the entire galaxy, and was wiped out by the borg or some guy like that. Therefore, the defenses were programmed to blow those ships up on sight.

| Nice idea, but if you make a ship with spherical tanks or cube containers (freighter), and the scanning system thinks that it's 2/3 geometrical and blows it up, you've got a problem.

| Scans the enitre ship. If part of it's sperical or rectangular, it's ok, but if the majority of geometric, it disassembles it to component parts.
Blowing it up would get a lot of people very angry.

| I dunno. If people want to make block ships, they should have the ability to. The day someone starts regulating what can and cannot be made in a game centered around individual creativity is the day this mod becomes null and void. | |

| That is one of the dumbest things I have heard, I mean nobody likes bricks, but thu should still be allowed to build what they want, putting in a system that stops people dim building certain types of ships (albeit ugly ones) that just seems a little bit too... Fascist, and we all know how well that works. | |

| What about rather having a reward for killing brick ships? Or even better: Having a society that is entirely brick-ship hating. | |

| The correct way to deal with this is to come up with a way to make real ships more effective than bricks. Just destroying all the bricks is stupid, like several people have said, especially as there are a number of brick designs that are actually good. If someone was to make a replica of a Borg cube, and actually put effort into it and give it all the detailing and stuff, it's a totally legitimate ship. Having it blown up would be foolish. | |

| There's no need for any cube-destroying fleet. A cube ship would be easy to design, yes, but really it's not that efficient. Ships need nobbly bits. Engines, big guns, energy collectors, etc. etc. Basically you'd need to make an entire ship then enclose it within a cube. Much easier to just cut out that cube part and use the parts that matter. | |

| you would be better off having a skeleton ship rather than a cube (by skeleton I mean the ship has only the essentials, enclosed within a mininalistic frame), plus skeleton ships look better than cubes | |

| Brick ships can be effective and cheap i agree, but they are (depending on how cost effective you try and make it) more compact which makes you more likely to hit something important. So it may work out like genetics. the strong will survive and the rectangles will die out. I think that an anti brick feature would be something that would only be considered if they become a problem. Or we could start a crusade against block like ships. Tell people to retire their ship or we will scuttle it for you. | |

| Just because its a cube doesnt mean its compact. You CAN put armour on a cube too.
And guess what, You may blowup one ship, But we can build another, And another, And another, And another, And another, Infinity.
