| I think that mods should not lock threads on the basis of them POSSIBLY resulting in flame wars, instead waiting if it happens to do so. Either that or a rule against said topics to begin with so people know which subjects are free to be discussed without being locked spontaneously. | |

| I wrote an essay on why topics shouldn't be closed on the basis of them being potentially volatile, but it seems that isn't what you're saying at all. Could you elaborate? | |

| I agree with tiel. It's only necessary to lock the REALLY bad ones. | |

I mean that currently there is no rule about wheter it is actually legitimate for Mods to lock threads because of rage/war potential. It is already illegal to insult others, and once it starts happening, the mods can (and have to) lock the thread, but it is a legal gray zone to lock a thread because of potential danger to the rules. That needs regulation, otherwise we´ll have Minority Report-style moderation. We don´t want that, do we? Also, I´m worried that half of the voters clicked on VOTE SAXON. | |

| I have re setup your poll, for future reference do not include random options, I don't think the community is capable of ignoring them. I have also reworded your post to better convey what you're proposing here, edit it at your leisure if you feel the point you're making isn't being brought out. | |
