A hyperspace corridor connects to Hyperspace Jump nodes that link two start systems together. Instead of travelling years in space you can take a hyperspace corridor and do it in a few minutes.

What are you talking about? I thought we were using something similar to ME's Mass Relays!

Uh well the mass relays are exactly the same thing. They create a hyperspace corridor between one part of the universe and another, just artificially created.

Maybe I can put one inside of a battleship?

We don't have "corridors" on Futurecraft. We have Jump-gates, which are giant Stargates, and hyperdrives.

It's written RIGHT in your reply ... Just replace the Mass relay with that stargate you want.

What?

I thought the deal was jump gates in space that are a b***h to build, and personnel stargates on the surface, since dozens of ships moving between servers at random would cause too much strain.

Random entry points will be pain in the a** for strategists. A single jump point will make the game much more strategic. Systems with many jump points linked together (like 3 Jump corridors ) become strategically important and yet difficult to defend because of the many possible entry routes.

Or maybe we can give the player the tools (and blocks) to make a space corridor, jumpgate, or hyperdrive.

You can't build a hyperspace corridor, only a Jump gate that creates it ... rather expensive technology.

Anyway it's not a discussion for this thread.

Well there's not much more to discuss on this thread, I think it's dead. But, the ship with probably appear in another thread of mine.

I must say I really like your style: the detailed and grungy under workings covered by clean white armor. It is something I tried and failed at in the past. Of course, I am now going to be a B-series of ships which uses a style similar to that (my next series of ships was going to be called the B-series anyway, so this is... good.)

I must say, the design of the frigate looks remarkably like the one I built on Tiel's server (with your help, I believe).

Which one? I am using his map for my ships.

Also, it really depends on what texturepack your using to make ships. I use the deep space texturepack to make, "the detailed and grungry style".

I personally hate all the Voxel Box texture packs, but you used them well.

Anyway, I started building my own mech. It looks good, but isn't turning out how I expected.

That's how it usually is. You develop a mental picture, start building, realize it's nothing like you thought, END.

The voxelbox is very hard to master, and it took me awhile to get used to. It gives you great tools, but they might be too advanced for some. You can just use iron on your ship, you have to use variation and that's the problem with the default. You can only use 1 block for your mech, ship, boat, IRON. build more ships and you'll get used to it.

If you could build a bigger version of the Sting Ray it'd be so ossum.
