I want to discuss which (new) building materials we are gonna use for this Mod.

Current Idea Collection: (will be kept up-to-date)

1) concrete
mainly used to: build facilitys on the ground
properties: quite difficult to destroy compared to stone or brick
idea status: fundamentally accepted

2) reinforced concrete
mainly used to: build robust structures
properties: the main difference to regual concrete is the higher explosion resistance
idea status: fundamentally accepted

3) adamantium
mainly used to: cover delicate spots at your spaceships or devices
properties: can withstand any explosion, expect nuke; can only be dismantled by using a welder
idea status: doubtful

3) colored steel
mainly used to: show a ships affiliation without providing weak spots in the hull
properties: same as normal steel but coulored
idea status: open

Yes, yes, no. Adamantium would be incredibly OP, because older servers would build... Dare I say it... Sun Crushers. Concrete and stuff is a good idea though, for quick bases and stuff.

XD Fail

Adamantium should be extreme heat leading to prevent guys from building Sun Crushers

instead of just coloring it with dye, i think that having to paint it would be a better method of coloring it. All it would do is select the colour so you don't need to break a block to change the color.

For the start crafting is easier to do.

Adamantium would be as strong as Obsidian is now. Not that overpowered. Besides, you will need something like that to stop ships being torn apart in the first few seconds of battle. Adamantium and other durable materials will be needed in the mod to give ships with weak shields a chance.
