I don't expect anyone to give a flying hoot, but here goes.
Larsa Riemers died on May 25th at 9:15 AM from a severe head injury. He was unable to eat or drink anything and the pet hospital staff can be blamed on grounds of incompetence. (Seriously? Give him a steroid shot and 'see what happens', even though he can't eat or drink from an obvious gash at the beak? **** you guys. )
Larsa was a good friend and an integral part of the family, always forgiving and striving to brighten up otherwise desolate days. He was always there at my side when I needed comfort. His death death hit me like a hammer to the abdomen. You never know what you have until you lose it.
...and rest in peace, little guy.

Arrg. One of my shrimp died a few weeks ago, at the age of 14. I know how you feel.

Shrimps live to 14?
..and I can't seem to find my only picture of Larsa anywhere. All my other profile images are on Google but it seems some omnipotent celestial entity is giving me the middle finger.

No, they don't. Brine shrimp live about a year. This one lived with a bunch of others in an ecosphere for a year, and then the others died. He lived alone in there for 13 years. We called him Methuselah, and we don't know why he lived that long.

Here we are.
...
Something of a conspiracy here. The bird seen above is Larsa, but not the Larsa that died. Pre-Larsa was a female cockatiel, as seen in the photo above. Post-Larsa was a male with a full face of yellow, who is...dead. The last time I saw pre-Larsa was when I tried to smuggle her past airport security about a year ago, where I suspect they locked her up as 'evidence'. My theory is my dad then refused to wait on the bird and went back the 300+ miles to where he lived and picked up a similar cockatiel and sent that one instead.
So this means I have not one but two cockatiel's lifeblood on my hands.

I am sorry for your loss. I once tried to experiment with various pets. Most were invertibrates, and I became frustrated with all but one. The one I kept was an ant queen, and was alive for 19 years, and was a very interesting pet. She died about 600 years ago, and her name was in the more complex dialect of owlish, so I can't say it here.

You said Larsa died on February 25. Did you mean May 25? February 25 was more that 3 months ago.

That's sad. Rest in peace, Larsa.
How did Larsa get a beak torn apart?

I had a parakeet 4 or 5 years ago, he would perch on my shoulder and nibble on my knuckle. He was one of my favorite pets. But I'm not allowed to get another bird as a pet...I'm stuck with cats...

What's wrong with cats?
On a similar note, losing pets sucks. Sorry for your loss.

I like how you started off this topic by saying: I don't think anyone will care.

I saved his life probably, I just dont care that he ate crap for 2 years with his obese girlfriend, and then had a stroke because he was tormenting my little brother
And none of this is really a priority, ranks about as important as going to see the avengers yesterday
