My custom map

Hello everyone, my name is Mac. I have for you today a custom map, which I have named: The Labyrinth. It consists of a series of tunnels connected to mazes, which may or may not lead to one of four challenges, marked by solid ore blocks. There may be a surprise at the end. If there is, I ask you not to tell anyone.

The map is 99% complete. I have only one circuit left to build, a single tunnel, and a few portals to set up. And I probably want to write the rules down somewhere...

So, in the meantime, I'll give you a teaser image to discuss. This may or may not be the surprise at the end, but it is the best designed (in terms of glamour) part of the map.

Discuss the picture among yourselves. What does it represent? Where is it? Is the room a trap?

I'll probably release the map tomorrow, so be ready.

By no means is it the best or coolest map out there. But I did put a lot of effort into it, and besides the overall claustrophobia of the mazes, I believe its helped my building a lot.


Did I mention traps?

About the hall. Some of you may remember on Tiel's server we built a throne room, Mackeroth then complained about how small it was. This one was an example of how big Mackeroth wanted it to be. I think maybe it is a bit over-the-top, but then again, it does have a certain pizzazz to it.

Pizazz. Heh. I once made a custom map, but it was pretty bad. I think it's still floating around somewhere.

Just because you changed your persona doesn't mean you get to talk in third person. It would be fun. Actually, now Keon's going to do that.

If theres one thing I hate... It's people talking about themselves in third person. It annoys me more than...

More than Kobialka can hope to do in a week of non-stop posts.

But the map looks nice. Very nice. Can't wait!

I wan't talking about myself in third person, I was talking about Mackeroth.

Just be Mackeroth, but without the stuff that caused you to change. I mean, Mackeroth was fine, just a good Mackeroth.

Mackeroth means ego. The name change is just a personification of personality differences.

I built a park instead. See "Project Black Moon".

Alright. I have finished what needed finishing, and it is completed! Well, the first release anyway.

It is your job to recommend how I could improve it; any and all advice is welcome.

The Labyrinth!


I did cut out as much unnecessary land as possible, but the file is still pretty large.

If you have a problem with the diamond maze, don't worry: you'll die of starvation sooner or later....

At the end of the diamond maze, the lever room may be broken. If the doors don't open, then panic.

I did test the link and download, it should work fine.

It amazes me that no one picked up on the bleedingly obvious mistake I made in the giant hall (in the picture).

What, that it was supposed to be a creeper face at the end of the room and instead it looks like some form of moth-like insect head?

I did but my computer says it is an invalid file. Any idea what could have caused that?

None whatsoever. I compresses the file to a .rar, then changed it to a .zip. I made sure you could still access the map while a .zip, then uploaded it.

Regular windows extractor says it's invalid. You need to open it with WinRAR, unfortunately. Maybe fix that?

There are already like 3 very popular maps called the labrynth :3
