Java experience: I have only written mods for minecraft *unless you count javascript*. I also know C, lua, bat, html, and the basics of assembly

Minecraft modding experience: a magic mod.

a star wars mod that I never released because all it had was a battle droid, a droidika with a working shield, and a blaster rifle

and I wrote some C4 that was detonator specific

Same goes for any other prospective programmers out there. At the moment, unless you can help with engine modding (which I can say with confidence would demand something on par with a degree in computer science or prior experience writing games), you're probably better off waiting until the content phase of the project. Not trying to be elitist or anything; this mod is just really, really involved, especially by Minecraft modding standards.

Precedent.

Now, what I did was just start coding something. Probably not the best way, but it worked. If you want to try something, I have a thing everybody has been wanting.

You know the Futurecraft OP? On it, it has lists of weapons. If you can code some of those, we would all be very happy. Plus, if you do well, you get the green light to green.

Other than that, there is ServerTravel, if Ectrimble has left for good.

Difference is, Ectrimble was a programmer that did sever-to-server travel often. It was... complex, to say the least.

There are three pillars that hold up Futurecraft.

1: Flying ships.
2: Flying ships onto your friend's server.
3: Flying ships with lots of weapons onto your friend's server.

Pillar 3 needs pillar 2, which needs pillar 1. Anyway, Fr0st makes pillar 1, Ectrimble makes pillar 2, and Pillar 3 is relatively easy.

Not really. The customization of weapons makes pillar 3 complex as well.

For the content yes, but the engine behind it, like the other bases of the pillars, requires advanced abilities.

I don't see what is so hard with adding weapons. Maybe you could say Danice's work fits in with pillar 3. But ultimately, what engine is there to create?
