PostSubject: New Space Based Indie Game   Sat Feb 11, 2012 1:09 pm

I have been playing this new game alot called Kerbal Space Program. It is an indie game based in mexico. It is only in alpha, but it has already come really far. You should all try it out because currently, the free demo has the same stuff as the pre-order. I have landed on the mun already, and I am getting ready for a solar orbit. http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/

Hahahahaha! Wow, that was funny. It's a mix of cheerful kid-like happiness and astronaut dreams and flying around in rocket-ships.

Spore never had realistic physics. The "Build your rocket" is laggy for me, and I suck at getting up higher.

Either with very precicely calculated rocket builds that don't break when you touch the surface, or with mods. This game is even easier to mod than minecraft. You just have to drag new pieces into the folder in the .zip folder.

P.S. Jebediah is a beast. That fearless kerbal laughs in the face of danger.

Pro tips: Launch Vertical and hold steady with SAS and fins. At 30,000m, tilt to 45 degrees. At 60,000m, tilt to 90 degrees and cut engines until you reach the apoapsis. Then burn until your orbit is circular.

Orbits become much easier if you pre-order the game and then use the MechJeb plugin... it's so useful to have the Orbital Information screen up so you can thrust without having to check in the map view. I can make circular orbits easily now (with Apo/Peri within 300m of eachother). Landing on the Mun is a bit more difficult (read: I do it rarely) and my favorite things to fly are swing-wing spaceplanes of all sizes and shapes.

I've put up three cities, two laser satellites and a messload of comms buoys.

Also, the next person to derail this topic gets banned. Seriously, grow up.

I did pre-order and mechjeb lags my computer badly on top of the simulations the game is already running. And minutes after I posted that I made an orbit and its equatorial and as close to circular I can get.... now to de-orbit the debris.
