I had the idea for multiple game types. Different people like to play different ways.

Neutral: This is the normal game mode. You can make peace, make war, or do whatever you want. The only rules are Rules of Reality. The rules are to enforce realism. This means no flying, hacking, exploiting, and most importantly of all, NO SPAWNING ITEMS! I'm serious on this one. Nothing pisses me off more than people on servers begging for creative mode so that they don't have to work for the end product.

Peaceful: This is for the pacifists among us, along with those that don't enjoy their hard work being violently stripped of its subatomic particles. In these galaxies, weapons are banned, and you can't even make them. Because construction will be more emphasized, planets will spawn closer, and materials will be much more plentiful and easier to access. Along with the other two game types, there will be no item spawning. When you are building something as personal as a space ship you will call home, it isn't so much the destination as it is the journey.

Hostile: Perhaps the most interesting, this mode can be compared to The Hunger Games. Four clans will start on a fresh map at the same time. It will be a test to see which team can outsmart and outperform the competition. Each team will start on identical planets, to ensure consistency. An equal distance from each planet lies 3 identical sub planets or asteroids. This will all be randomly generated, but will follow the rules of consistency. The dwarf planets will contain elements that would normally be found on the home planet in the normal mode, but only appear on these dwarf planets now, to ensure that the clans race to develop space flight and secure one of these resources. Only then can they advance their technology. Because there are 4 teams and only 3 dwarf planets, one of either two things can happen. First, one of the teams will be slower than the rest in getting to a dwarf planet, and thus won't be able to advance their technology, and will be easily eliminated later in the game, or secondly, two teams will attack the same planet and each side will need to battle for control. The game will continue until one team is remaining in the game. To eliminate a team, you would need to destroy their monument. Each team, when they spawn, also appear near their monument. This is a structure that each team must protect. When a player dies, they must respawn at their monument. Because each team's monument spawns at the same location for every identical planet, it will be very hard to hide it, so most teams will probably build on top and around of the monument. This is, however, up to each individual team.

Spore was PvE, though. It sounds more like Race for the Wool to me.

Neutral = Normal

Peaceful = Passive (Personally, I'll advocate peace with my battle cruiser, but we'll sure as hell have some heavy weaponry aboard.)

Hostile = Competitive

Simply because Neutral just seems more like normal FutureCraft gameplay to me, and with peaceful, it's because you could have peaceful planets ready to wipe you out of the galaxy if you mess with them.

And Hostile just seems like a fixed competition, with an obvious end in sight.
