Not sure if these ideas were already posted, but I have a few great ideas.

DROP PODS:
Higher Health then escape pod, same size. Light shielding. Can make directional changes.

SHOCK TROOPERS:
Special NPC, Armed with Plasma Rifle and a pistol. Can only be deployed via Drop Pods.

MEDICS:
NPC, Any friendly unit within a 10 block radius gets slow health regen.

JEEP:
LRV (Light Recon Vehicle), 1 Driver and 1 Gunner, 2 Chests built in. Can harvest resources from the wild.

BOMBER:
Bomber jet, has 1 Turret and 2 bomb bays. Fighter escort highly recommended.

GALAXY MAP:
Map in bridge, used to see ship positions. Also works on the surface to oversee troop deployment and movement.

STEALTH SHIP:
Equipped with special cloaking drive, making in very difficult to see. Can only be detected via eyesight or advanced radar.

KAMIKAZE FEATURE:
If you ship has sustained heavy damage, or if your reactor overheats, you have the option to sacrifice your ship to destroy and enemy ship. Highly suggested you send all unnecessary troops and supplies to friendly ships before kamizeing.

These are just some of my ideas, I hope they help improve the mod.

Most NPC soldiers will be robots, not humans. They are stored in storage pods
until needed. When activated they will come out of their pods and attack any enemies.
Drop ships will be the primary method of getting them to ground battle fields.

MEDICS:

Maybe. But players have slow health regeneration anyway, as long as they have
food.

JEEP:

I wouldn't use fighters in the atmosphere. But otherwise, a good idea.

What, like a holographic projection of the galaxy? Like the one from Lego Star
Wars: the Clone Wars? Sounds difficult to code, but I'd love to see it.

Stealth and cloaking devices are going to be quite different from that.

Wont be an official "option", you just ram into an enemy or try and
run. No flicking a big switch that says "kamikazeā€




These are just some of my ideas, I hope they help improve the mod.

You should be pleased that I am actually considering some of your ideas, most people just post: "i want haz supa lazzor".

Thanks for considering my ideas. I had some ideas for the galaxy map. You would need a special screen mod, about the thickness of a snow tile. It would probably be crafted with redstone, iron blocks, and glass. You would also need spy satellites or a ship-mounted camera to display images to the screen. This can also be used as a monitoring system from the perspective of a small unit.

I don't see how spy satellites or cameras would help with a galactic map.

Maybe not for a galaxy map, but for live feeds for a certain area of the battlefield or something of that nature.

No, you were saying that everything besides the jeep has been suggested. The jeep was the only thing that was suggested previously, you had it backwards, hence the "contrary".

Wait, hold the phone. The jeep got suggested? I don't remember that. I know for a fact everything else on that list has been suggested at some point or another. But that's not important.

The galaxy map was an idea I had before I even joined, though it was just for terrestrial use back then. Essentially it is a large room that's something between a map room and a planetarium, complete with holograms and overriding camera controls which let you do navigation and keep track of where you are.

That would be cool. Like that time in Star Wars II when Obi Wan is consulting Yoda and the room goes all dark, and they find themselves in the middle of a holographic map of the galaxy.

Jeeps?I know they have been suggested, but it would be cool if they looked kinda of like warthogs(Halo duh) and have a heavy MG in back!

Best image I could find. So basically you put down this map and all these completely identical, unlabeled stars fill up the room. There's no way anyone could use something like that, I don't care who you are. You need labels, some sort of grid, highlighted regions, shipping lanes, just something.

What I mean by symbolic is just like diagrams of the solar system are never drawn to scale because you couldn't see anything. Same deal here. When navigating between stars, system markers would be big enough to clearly see, with some way of identifying what region you are in, like a constellation or something. Same deal for intra-solar system navigation. It would be a map which prioritized everything being visible over being to proper scale. It's just good sense from a game design standpoint.

Like that Like the Ancient one that I completely neglected (which can zoom, pan, rotate, has big labels for systems with Stargates, and can even zoom onto a single system or planet)?
