*Java experience: ]I wouldn't call myself an expert, but neither am I a noob at it. Does it count if I've been learning Java the entire school year from my Computer Science class?

Minecraft modding experience(I.e., how many mods you've worked on/made;please link examples if any; if you've never coded Minecraft, that's fine - it doesn't take long so long as you understand Java.): well, I have recently pushed out my first mod (which, of course, deals with obsidian tools and whatnot) and still am adding a few things onto it here and there

(seeing on how I can't post links, I guess searching the mod forum for ObsidianExpanded would pull it up)

Thanks for the application. It sounds like you would be good at coding content.
At the moment, though, we've pretty much got our hands full with modding the game engine, which needs to be done before content can be started.
If you don't mind waiting on us, can we call you up when we get to that stage?


Same goes for any other prospective programmers out there. At the moment, unless you can help with engine modding (which I can say with confidence would demand something on par with a degree in computer science or prior experience writing games), you're probably better off waiting until the content phase of the project. Not trying to be elitist or anything; this mod is just really, really involved, especially by Minecraft modding standards.

Well 80% of the project is the engine. If we stand on 75% we are in quite a good position Razz .

Lol, I wish it were. But Futurecraft is not going to me a small thing. MMOs have lots of content, though most of the content is going to be more spreadsheet jockeying than direct coding (though there is still going to be a LOT of code. So much code.)

Well, you're busy with the engine work. Everyone else is complaining about the fact that I'm not doing any work.
