PostSubject: Trust me. I'm a woman.   Sun Sep 08, 2013 3:26 pm

So I was doing home work (which I should get back to) and i came across this.

Although I think women should be treated fairly (which for the most part they are). It sounds like a really bad idea. Morals are important, but how far do you go when law is involved as well.

The problem is that people aren't equal. Females are very different from males, from physical differences to cognitive to everything. By nature, they are designed with different roles and functions in mind, compared to males. As such, I think equality is a goal we should shoot for, but it's unrealistic.

For example, male Chauvinism is bad. On the counter side, we have feminism. Though seemingly different, they are the same- My gender is better than yours, and therefore, we should have more rights than you and be better treated than you.

That's one of the things I despise. I support equality, I don't support the idea that one group will be held in higher esteem/law than the other. Except, perhaps, in terms of intelligence, but that's another matter entirely.

Seriously though, men and women have their roles in society and, though they are different, both are of about equal importance.

So the idea is... women should actually get a say in women's rights issues?

I don't like it. Not because I'm some male chauvinist, but women have a huge part in society already, to the point where 99% of the time they'll win in a court case.

Their situation can be likened to blacks complaining about racism - it's still there, but it's been minimized as much as possible without restricting everyone's right to free speech to untenable levels. The only people that agree with either group are apologists.

Note: I am black, so don't go accusing me of being some KKK member for putting things in a blunt light.

That only remains true until we adopt simply growing humans.
Or if we transfer to digital mediums and move via robots.

Uhuh, well then I counter with either: You still need a male in there, so males should be equally as important.
Or
Try putting two females together and getting a child.

WARNING: (PARTIALLY IRRELEVANT) VENTING HATH OCCURRED.

People are stupid. In general, people are stupid. That's the largest problem with a lot of things, people are too stupid to think objectively or too scared to challenge the dogma set by stupid people. And stupid's not really something you can fix. You can show someone an objective point of view, show them the things you believe in, expose them to your entire philosophy, but there's no way you can make them start thinking in reality without the tinted glasses society's taught them to wear. Even if you directly question why they continue to submit and they have no answer, even if you give them a foothold from which to question themselves, they'll refuse.

Everyone has their own window through which they perceive the world, it's up to the individual whether or not to draw the curtain. From this changing view do people develop their own malleable truths. I don't mean to support a single idea or belief, rather a way of creating ideas, a process of thought.

See, the difference there is the role and whether it can be replaced. Where you actually need a living, breathing vagina to get a new human, the same can't be said of a penis. Just a legion of sperm will do in its place.

Granted, you still do have to have a male in the process somewhere, but not nearly as large of a part. If there were a spaceship that crash landed on an alien world with 100 male survivors but only one female, they'd fare quite badly compared to the one with one living guy and a hundred chicks.

And those people need to be executed. Stupidity is a societal flaw, and needs to be eliminated. If I'm on the list of people to be executed for stupidity, so be it.

E: Should have added: this is just my opinion.

See, the difference there is artificial insemination. Where you actually need a living, breathing vagina to get a new human, the same can't be said of a penis.
If there are no males, then where do you get the semen hm?

I'm not up to date on the current tech for that, but I'd be surprised if we're more than a decade or so away from being able to grow babies in artificial wombs given an egg and sperm.

I revised my post. Might want to modify yours to reflect that.

Also note that since you seem to be letting your emotions taint your responses, I'm only offering a contrasting viewpoint here. By no means do I firmly believe anything I'm saying right now.
