I'm depressed.

I've been busy the past couple of evenings contemplating the current and former state of the forum. Earlier today, out of curiosity, I went looking through some of the oldest posts on this forum. Seeing all the long-inactive users, remembering everything they did and how they contributed to the community.

Anyone remember tonyri? Red Fang? Formedoubly? TacoKingBob? Superninjakiwi? Caltech117? Ectrimble20? Danice123?

I can't help but be depressed at all of this.

Isn't Formedoubly Arsln? Who may now be Solar12? And both TacoKingBob and Superninjakiwi have been active relatively recently, if not in the past couple of weeks.

If you look at the Members page, and sort by join date in ascending order, you can see their join date while also being able to see the date of their last visit in a separate column. Formedoubly hasn't been active for ages, nor have superninjakiwi or tacokingbob.

February 18, 2012. Before I even joined the forum. We have been predicting doom and despairing over the state of the mod for about as long as this community has existed. It was not in danger of imminent collapse then and I do not believe it is so now. Most of our current productive members joined within a month or so of Mackeroth saying that, and despite what he was thinking then, the community was preparing to rise to new heights. The events of the past few months have been a rough patch, but not one that is going to bring the forums careening through the guide-rails and over the cliff. Several of our longstanding members are taking these events as a sign that everything is going to fail and this is the time to jump ship. I do not believe that that action is warranted at the present time. We have fallen from where we were a few months ago, but we remain higher than we have been in the past. Progress is still being made, and those who are patient enough to stick with it will be rewarded. Everyone who joined these forums did so in the knowledge that they were in for a long haul. If Mackeroth and everyone else had given up back in February of 2012, we would not be here in this thread talking today. Being back on the old forums has brought us face-to-face with these issues, and I understand why it is depressing. But it will fade with time, as all things do. The community and mod will get back on track, as they did more than a year ago.

If you thought this mod is going to die then think again.

See what is good about a mod like ours is that this mod stops to exist hen frost says so, and even if he will be alone on the forums it won't change that as after all nobody of us really contributed anything to the development and our presence here is not needed , so that is the good news. The bad news is that the fact it will still be developed doesn't warrant you it will be completed any time soon if ever ...

I think there are two parts to Futurecraft:
1) The mod. Noone knows a lot about that part aside from fr0st.
2) The community. A bunch of insane roleplayers who love to be insane. Deal with it or GTFO.

I'll drink to that!

Don't worry, if we all leave, fr0st will take over our accounts and pretend to be us to make the forum seem to stay alive.

(OFC: I just noticed the whole outlook of the forum...the smileys are the least cringe-worthy thing here, and I really hope we won't be staying here.)
