An idea for a short story.

Someone (not me) should write a story of an assembly line worker sneaking a spaceship out of the factroy he works in one part at a time, a la

I'm working on a short story. Well... It might be a short story, I don't know yet. I'm gonna put it in a thread when it's more complete.

I'm working on one too that will probably give my stuff to do for a long time. If you want to make a group writing don't bother ppl won't cooperate anyway .

Alright, looks like if I want it to get done in the way I'd like, I'll have to do it myself. General storyline:

A man moves to a new star system to work in a ship factory.
He would really like a vessel of his own, but he's dead broke.
He conspires to sneak all the parts for a ship out one part at a time.
Once he has done this, he begins building it, only to discover that the parts are all for different ships.
He somehow manages to throw them together, making an ugly lump of barely-habitable metal.

Well, that´s what sequels are for.
And to ensure this story has 100% clichee-content, don´t forget that every story has some kind of "love" spect behind it...

What about he needs a ship to visit his girlfriend in another system?

Hmm that reminds me, I should probably keep working on my short story, but I forgot what I was doing with it
