So, if every server has a world, then that is the perfect recipe for instant war. To prevent total annihilation, I HOPE that the developers have made a generator for asteroids that are made of one or two resources, say iron ore and redstone, and moons, made of stone and other stuff, and other planets, completely untouched by people until the arrival of..... you. In a server "system", there should be a random number of planets between 1 and 8, and every server planet should have a moon, so that people will have time to gather plenty of resources before obliterating their neighbor. I imagine this was planned, but if it wasnt, and someone had a brain fart, then I hae saved the universe. Also, comets should randomly appear, as a gift horse, and be made of ice and diamonds. The comets should be random, and about as rare as a pink sheep. Likewise, asteroids and meteors would be about as rare as a dungeon, and be made of stone, coal, iron, and whatever else the developers think of. Finally, meteors and asteroids should also randomly crash into servers, propmpting anti-asteroid defence systems, and moon colonies, so the civvies can live on the mood, and have a slightly lower chance of asteroid strikes. When an asteroid or meteor DOES strike a planet, the crater should be lined with iron ore and other valuables, so that the people dont get completely ripped off.

The moon has a higher chance of asteroid strikes. That's why it has so many craters.

lol.

i like the idea of the server owning a entire system instead of a planet. all planets and the sun should have gravity, so if you are chased by a faster but less skilled fleet (AKA those that just got his fleet by assasinated the former captain. but cant steer a ship) you could make a gravity-slingshot around the sun and get away

I think you would die in the process of trying that.....

NO ONE has noticed the GLaDOS reference in PLEaSE? Heh... SO uncultured...

Anyway, there should be large deposits of some rare/valuable* material in the middle of asteroids and comets to make it worth getting your server or moonbase hit in the face with one.

One problem with *Not GOLD. You do realize that the computer you're typing this on is absolutely stuffed with it, right? It's such a good conductor that it's actually semi-necessary for computers to work properly.

Well then, why isn't my computer stuffed with silver? It's about as rare as gold, but it's a lot better conductor.

" Gold is the 2nd best conductor of electricity, it is the most malleable metal, it can be made into micron-thin leaf and it is highly resistant to tarnish. These characteristics made gold well suited for circuit boards. Gold is frequently used as connectors ("Fingers"), and sometimes used as the PBC traces and components pins (in high performance boards).

Many circuit boards have small amounts of Silver and Palladium in their solder and components (e.g. transistors."

Gold doesn't oxidize nor does it form sulfides from use, silver and copper both do. Thusly when you need an electronic device that is going to perform for a long time, you need something that is not going to fail due to that use. Also take note that because gold isn't as good of a conductor as silver (or copper for that matter) that it is not used in semi conductive applications (like the inside of a computer chip or a capacitor) only for exposed usage such as on a computer mother board.

Also note that silver is less common than gold above ground, however, silver is much more common than gold underground due to the way gold forms. Not to mention gold is just cooler than silver anyway, silvers like Platinum's retarded little brother.

Not quite, will there be asteroid generation? Also, will there be a device I can purchase from the main server with like 2000000000 credits that will create a moon or planet, because that would be neat, and the ultimate admin tool.

I personally don't like asteroids. As for creating a planet...

That's too bad. Asteroids would certainly make it easier to set up a mining operation (since they are so rich in iron).

Yeah, like fr0st said, asteroids have a very rich composition of iron and other 'earth' elements that could be used for ship construction. Not to mention that mining the asteroid would produce a higher metal to junk(rock/ dirt) mine ratio, compared to mine a planet.
