Scandinavia, western Europe excluding Greece ( and probably Italy and Spain soon) , Canada as said ... Those are not Socialist countries but social democratic countries, there is a difference .

I offer comparison. In Canada, the NDP is our most left-wing party. The Liberals run slightly left of center, and the Conservatives are just that, somewhere off to the right. The most lefty group in the states is roughly even with Canada's Conservatives.
You see the issue? Socialism, debt, and Romney notwithstanding, the orientation of the U.S. government has always been something of an issue. (eg. You have no universal health care.)
Freedom! Wonderful thing, but it runs both ways. free to reap the benefits of society, also free to suffer the consequences.
Please don't flame this, I'm merely offering objective comparison. Do you guys get tea-party style dudes, or what is your most-right-wing-iest party? Farthest right wing is no where near the Tea-Party. Canada (and others, i.e. Britain, China, and others) maintain a left-right balance, unlike the States, which was sawed off the British Empire and handed 2 right-wing parties from the start. Changing that is like trying to stop a moving planet with only a tin can and some Mentos. Righties (Conservative Party o' Canada) are the idiot in power at the moment. Herper and his band of crooks. I'm not sure who's most lefty in the US, I think (think) The Republicans. Still off the end of the spectrum up here. (This does not include the never-had-a-seat Communist Party.)

| You should all move to Russia where 38% of the seats are still communist . I would like to note that I cannot accept any of your words seriously when you called China a social-democratic country together with Canada and Europe. A simple man there can barely get enough to live and no rights are preserved so there is no point to even talk about social rights in China. As I said social-democratic and socialist are two different things. | |

| Vietnam is pretty communist, and even after we interfered it is working rather well, the government is.
And I don't want to see any political flame wars, you all.

| Remember the Marx, and you can know that Socialism is the bridge to true Communism, that is meaning no government utopian society in which there is no bourgeoisie or proletariat (Its Marx's names for the two social classes that he believed were the basis of capitalism the working man((proletariat)) and the well to do rich guy.((bourgeoisie))) Also, a whole bunch of stuff about how Marx wanted the "Workers of all lands unite" to happen and bloody coups. In addition, there is a whole lot more to it but that is the surface of how to understand The Communist Manifesto. Oh, and Killing Fields. | |

I do believe that the Democrats actually GAINED seats the the Senate, therefor retaining their majority, but even so Obama still won't be able to make any laws as a bill has to pass the House first. Also its the congressman and women who introduce bills, not the president. Another thing, can one of the Moderators change back the poll options from "not important" to their respective parties? ex: Tea-Party, Libertarian, and Green-Party? Its quite disrespectful to their ideologies and opinions, which they are entitled to have.

The Democrats came out on top there, but their guy won. What can you do. I'll put it back if you really feel strongly about it, but I can't remember which one was which. It doesn't really matter because only one of them got a vote, and IIRC that was for lack of a more random choice.
