PostSubject: Crops, Farming and Healthbars.   Wed Oct 31, 2012 8:20 pm

To add to the challenge and realism of FC, maybe some more healthbars should be added.

Comfort bar====Takes into consideration heat (desert=hot, tundra=cold, superenergetic plasma=really really hot), what your wearing (iron armor=not too comfy, cotton clothing=really comfortable), foods that add or subtract from your comfort (raw meat=gross, fresh fruit=delicious).

Hydration=====Requires water or another drink.

Maybe some others.


The agricultural aspect of FC hasn't been explored enough, I feel. More crops should be added to serve our purposes (and fermentation).

Cotton=======Comfortable, customizable clothing. Lets you move faster while keeping warm. Carpets, blankets.

Hemp=======Ropes, clothing, some... other things.

Fruit trees
-apple
-orange
-Grape vines (not trees, but wine.)
-Barley (BEER!)
-etc.

Soy

Algae========Fuel, health-regen drink, oxygen

But on a more serious note, we seem to be building a think tank's worth of ideas, GL coders. Oh, and I want to make cheese, so lets get some serious agriculture going.

pretty good ideas, but i think there should be a random generator for new species of food
comfort bar seems a bit over the top, i think health bar +food bar is enough

When FC comes out, i will have a cheese farm, cheese houses, even genetically engineer cheese cows!

Comfort bar would basically just justify having a lot of different foods. Agreed it's not entirely necessary, just neat to have. Hydration bar I think should be implemented.

Let´s make Alcoholic drinks give you boosts when you drink them, but also fill up an invisible alcohol-meter which gives you debuffs (like nausea, blindness or poisoning) when it fills up high enough. If the alcohol-meter is at maximum, you get the Wither-effect. (for those who don´t know: It´s like poison, but kills you)
Of course, the Alcohol-meter would go down slowly with time.

Not a bad idea, but keep in mind that we don´t want to stuff the player with meters like the mood-mod, from the original Flan´s Mods, because it would take some focus away from the sci-fi theme of FC.

What we could do, however, would be to make bad (mood) values not having negative effects, but giving you buffs if you manage to keep them all up at once.

So we should have like classes, That have difrent vaules. Like lets say you pick pirate, As long as your Drunkedness bar is maxed your like Robo-Super-Cop-Pirate.

And then when you drink all the rum, you cannot get drunk and are as good at being a pirate as a dead ant.

I don't think classes like that would be good for FC, but maybe you would gain resistances to drugs, diseases, heat/cold, etc. When you gain a resistance to one thing, it takes a little away from everything else, so you never actually gain an advantage over other players.

So..Kinda like Runescape but with limits?

Like you have say 4 skills and 100 point max for the total points
you have
25 P in Heat/Cold Resistance
25 P in Strength
25 P in Defence Skill
25 P in Drinking (Yarrr)

So if you spend alot of time in a Harsh enviroment drinking rum, Skill 1 & 4 will go up while Skill 2 & 3 will go down?
