I saw that on steam a couple weeks ago and thought that it looked too much like a new Galactic Civilizations. But since I enjoyed that game, I'll probably end up trying this guy.

I just can't wait for Planetary Annihilation to come out!

I didn't like it at all. 4x Strategy is only interesting to me if its RTS. Plus the combat system played out like Pokemon or DND with some weird card selection thing that is totally imbalanced.

If you want a big grand 4x Strategy game that won't blow up your GFX card or eat up all your memory, check out Star Ruler. Since it's last few updates, it's evolved from a cute little half ass space game, to a fun and challenging game that requires a lot of thought and cunning strategy to beat, not to mention you can have universes with thousands of planets and hundreds of stars, all in a real time format. Quite impressive for an indie game.

Have you tried it since they've patched it up? And if you want to try another experience, give the galactic armory mod a shot, basically a completely reworked vanilla system. I thought it was pretty bleh when it first came out too, but they've made a lot of improvements to it since it's original release that have made it a more enjoyable game, although if you're not into 4x, then it's probably not a game you'll enjoy anyway.

No. Looks like I'll have to look into it when I have the time.
